2015 US Open Final:
Flavia Pennetta - Roberta Vinci 76(4) 62
US Open Champion Flavia Pennetta announced retirement from tennis. -
My beloved Flavia. The best italian female tennis player ever. And one of the most beautiful.
She will be missed. She will play the end season master, then she'll retire.
-
I am so happy for Flavia, she has been the best Italian players for years before Schiavone rised all the way to number 4 in the world. She will be missed.

2015 WTA World Championship Semi-Finals:
Maria Sharapova - Petra Kvitova
Garbine Muguruza - Agnieszka Radwanska -
Yesterday Flavia Pennetta said goodbye to tennis.
-
I know she finished her career in the best way (better than seeing her ranking collapse like poor Schiavone, playing challengers and trying to remain eligible for Rio Olympics), I respect her decision to walk away now and finally build herself a life outside tennis.
Flavia you will be missed so much. After winning the US Open, I had never seen so many genuine congratulations on twitter by fellow WTA players for anyone, she was really liked by all.
And she closed her career in the most Italian way. After her match against Sharapova, the tournament organized a farewell ceremony: she just told the announcer "no, no, no please" and walked away waving goodbye because she didn't want to cry in front of everyone.

With Serena out of the games, 2016 could be Venus' year. You know, she's so experienced, so classy, so strong. Only problem is her illness, which makes her more tired.
