Antonella Del Core - News

  • Hi everyone...after this GP 2008, the new of Del Core bing out...really makes me sad!!!! ;(

She is a exclent player...and together with Piccinini was giving a lot o estability to Italy!!!!!

I'd like to know if someone knows wat is really going on with her.and how she is right now...cause I can't find exacly wat she has...this is making me nervous...cause looks like is serious...and not like for volleyball itself..but for her life too!!!!

    If someone has some news...pleaseee!!!

I'll pray a lot that is nothing to serious....

    My best regards for Anto!!!!

  • I also wonder what exactly is going on.
As already mentioned i dont think of doping as a reason. But as celso said (if correct) the meds she might have to take are not allowed. So this all might be precaution.

But on the other hand, if a player and doctors decide like this before the biggest sports event, something serious must be the reason, which is really sad for her and her fans.

I really hope that we will get to know more soon, so that all this speculating will be over.

Also pretty interesting how bergamo will handle this situation. Without Del Core the squad loses a lot of potential. But hopefully this situation is not too long winded

  • Doping really has nothing to do with Antonella, really.

You know, as always, before any international competition or whatever, each athlete has to do some tests to control and verify everything is ok.

And it wasn't so for Antonella. I still hope she will manage to play the Olympics, because she really deserves this.

I don't really care about our team ( I mean for sure I do, but first I am really so disappointed for her); she's a such a great person, probably the best not just fighter, but also worker in our team; the one that in those 2 years had improved the most (and she won really everything she could) and now I really can't imagine our nationalteam in Beijing without her.

I would just be so unfair.

    Fight once more, Anto.

  • I agree with Pedro!!!

Doping is definetly out of question...I think it might be a health problem...and that is what wories me more!!!!!

I just hope she still can manage to go to Olympics...althought Barbolini already said she is out!!! She is very imporntat for the team not only indside court!!!!

IS like Barazza....she had to be there...for the group...maybe she is not in her best shape ever...but she is so important for the group..that she needs to be there!!!!

If Anto don't go...I don't know what solution Massimo will find....I don't know..maybe Aguero as OH...and take Centoni as oppositte....

  • I'm so sad for Antonella. She really deserved to go to the OG. She worked hard for this, it's just unfair that something happened. On her website she wrote how excited she was to go to Beijing, and now she can't go anymore.

And, we still don't know what's wrong with her. I really hope it's nothing serious... :(

    Coraggio Anto!!

ı feel the same Ros she worked really hard for Italian NT.she really deserved to play in Beijing.
ı hope everything is OK with her health.ı am still looking forward to hearing good news of her chance to play in Bejing.

  • I had read that she had medical issues, but never thought about dopping... maybe just some injury, just like Metcalf, who won't be able to go to OG as well.
Anyway, it happens... my best wishes to Anto Del Core :)
