I have some questions for u:

1. How is the intrest for volleyball in Latvia, and then first of all for women? How is the future looking?
2. When I was in Riga in autumn 2009, I saw a lot of very tall girls, in a week maybe 2-3 over 200cm, and I noticed the girls was almost as tall as the guys. Was it just a coincidence, or is it common with tall girls in Latvia?
3. How is the financial situation for Latvia nowadays? When I was there, it was not very good, I remember many people asked for money and ciggarettes on the streets. The salaries was also very low I remember.

Btw, I have never seen so many really beautiful girls as when I was in Riga!

Men's volleyball isn't popular in Latvia. No. 1 is hockey, No. 2 - basketball. In our small country we have not money for all sports. So volleyball remains in shadow of hockey and basketball.

Latvian women's basketball NT is most sucessfull team of 21st century in our country - 4 straight European Top 8 and 2008 Olympics.

Latvian women's volleybal NT has 3 straight European Top 11 in 90-ties.

This year our women's volleyball NT is reanimated since its death in 2006.

Now we have 2 players from sweet 90-ties. Sandra Breiksa is rising from her 4-year retirement. Sana Catlaksa is rising from her 12-year retirement. Catlaksa is our version of monumental Irina Kirillova. After All-European performance in first game against Cyprus our great setter recieved Best Player title.

In the context of Europe our future looks weird. Today in NT we have only 2 professional players. We must raise and sell our players.

Svetlana Dukule tries to come back.
She already played some games in local "Olympics" Qualification a month ago.
I hope she will be ready for autumn!
