2014 / 2015 Transfer News

  • Kinga Kasprzak won't play rest of season, she needs a surgery. She and club have agreed to termination the contract . Now the club is loking for another OH. Martinez?

  • American MB signed with Criollas de Caguas in the PR League.

  • Most of young american players get a bit overrated even before they start a certain professional career. Well, many of them play very well but many of them don't play as good as they were mentioned beforehand... But when it comes to american MBs, I'm kinda speechless, they're so good ;)

  • If She is World Class Blocker, why doesn't She play in World Class Team ?

She was injured. She had a serious injury last season in Azeryol, the club had even to replace her in the last games with Fernanda Ísis. She used to be back up for Vargas Valdez, but when she came in she started blocking the world, not only scoring block points, but toughing every spikes as well. If I'm not wrong, she had game with 8 block points against Conegliano... Accoding to CEV rankings, during the whole competition she had 15 block points in 14 matches; the only one with more block points than set played beside her was Maja Poljak (40 sets, 47 blocks). And in the league, the few times she played, it was always the same show. If only she could be good spiker as well...

  • Serbian MB Aleksandra Petrović obviously has joined Czech CEV Cup participant KP Brno. I was already wondering, what had happened to her.

She was registered as an assistant coach in KP Brno a the beginning of the season, and now become a player.

Makarova is in the club, she was playing against Voronezh, but she's really not in form yet. Isaeva hasn't been playing for a long time also, but just maybe she's in a better form? Maybe we'll see her in their next Superliga game against Kazan this Sunday.

  • Is Orlova a MB? I noticed has a weird attacking approach

She has been MB for several years now, but early in her career she was playing OH and OPP. So it's just a question of spiking technic I guess.

  • There were some trades in Puertorican league.

Lancheras de Cataño sent Lizzelle Cintrón (MB) to Mets de Guaynabo for Dulce María Téllez (MB).

Previuosly Lancheras de Cataño sent Shannon Torregrosa (MB) and Oneida González (OP) to Orientales de Humacao for Shirley Ferrer (OP). Orientales de Humacao won't play next season, so both players got drafted and Shannon Torregrosa is now a player of Gigantes de Carolina, while Oneida González is with Criollas de Caguas (current champions).

Karla Echenique (S) is not anymore part of Valencianas de Juncos. The franchise set her free with Guadalupe Bou (L).

According to the president of Criollas de Caguas, the club made a very big offer (+ 10.000 dollars than the last season) to Falyn Fonoimoana in order to convince her to stay, but she refused. That's the reason why she won't play in Caguas anymore. Lancheras de Cataño was supposed to be her new club according to media, but she said in her Facebook account she didn't segn any contract yet, but she really hopes to stay in Porto Rico.

  • Mets de Guaynabo retired their team from the next LVSF, because internal trouble in the club.

Their players got drafted to the other teams.

Valencianas de Juncos must be the luckiest team in the world right now, since they got 2 first choises in the same year; it was the bottom team of the league during the last years. At first they got Willoughby, who was the first choise in the draft, and Castrodad in the second round and then Xaimara Colon, former NT libero, after 2 seasons of inactivity; now Mets de Guaynabo retired the team and they got Vilmarie Mojica, who was the second choice! :white:

I never saw in any sport or country such a lucky draft! Juncos is clearly favourite now for the championship!

The other big name is Lynda Morales. she may join Criollas de Caguas when Besiktas will end its season. Cintron is a good MB. Rodriguez and Rivera are young prospects, both very good.

    First round
    Juncos Vilmarie Mojica
    Cataño Lyzzy Cintron
    Mayaguez Keyla Rodriguez
    Carolina Hecter Rivera
    Caguas Lynda Morales
    Ponce Karla Colon
    Naranjito Millianet Mojica

    Second round
    Juncos Valeria Porrata
    Catano Dariam Acevedo
    Naranjito Alba Aponte

Yamileska Yantin, Alexandra Rivera and Idalia Andino didn't get drafted and now are free agents.

  • Ilijana Dugancici is coach in her home town but for this two I don't know :/

It appears that the Juncos and Indias are in close to trading Kim Willoughby for Yarimar Rosa.

    Source: Rumbo Al Camerino

  • Willoughby's and Rosa's trade is official. Willoughby is now in Indias de Mayaguez and Yarimar Rosa is now in Valencianas de Juncos. It's a great sign for Mayaguez, since Kim is more experienced and better passer than Rosa, that's more an offensive OH.

Changas de Naranjito set free Yeimily Mojica and will play the season with 2 young setters! :white:
