Looks like Guidetti invited some of the old names, despite he said that he would like to have a younger team. I understand it though, we dont have any solid youngsters yet to win ECH etc in the close run. I can only come up with Fatma Yildirim who is already around 26-27 years old and Gamze.

Some old names he very likely invited to the camp are Neslihan, Seda, Guldeniz, Neriman, Bahar and Eda.
I started to think that you are voleyboldefteri? If you are not why are you writing his news without saying the source of it?
Most of what you write is exactly the same words of what He wrote on twitter.
Because what he tells is often coming true since he has a good network of volleyball players in Turkey and Eczacibasi. Besides, not everyone here can speak/read Turkish so I believe it is good to share them anyway. If you have a problem with it, you can block me and most likely not see my posts.
I didn't say i have a problem with it, i am asking why you do not write your source? Most of the people write "according to x or y says that" so you should share your source as you are writing what he says exactly with same words.

Most of the people in this forum has communication problems. When someone writes or asks you something, it doesn't mean he/she means bad. A person can ask with real couriosity and good intention. I won't block you, i don't have problem with you writing his news, i am asking if you are him because you don't show source!

I understand your concern here. The thing is, this is not "Transfer news" thread where I have to show source. I wrote several times here already that "according to voleyboldefteri..." but it feels boring to repeat a source constantly. Next time I will do, you are right, I should respect the source :gone:

Official rosters have not been released yet but based on the league performance, the players who played constantly in their club and showed good performance are as following (I only add U30 players, considering OG 2020):

Setters: Naz Aydemir, Gamze Alikaya, Çağla Akın, Ezgi Dilik, Cansu Özbay, Arelya Karasoy, Aslıhan Kılıç
Opps: Meryem Boz, Polen Uslupehlivan, Ceren Kestirengöz, Ceyda Aktaş,
MBs: Eda Erdem Dündar, Büşra Kılıç, Neşve Büyükbayram, Diclenur Babat, Hazal Selin Uygur, Kubra Çalışkan, Aslı Kalaç, Beyza Arıcı, Hande Naz Şimşek, Su Zent, Cemre Janset Erkul, Zehra Güneş, Yasemin Güveli
OHs: Neriman Özsoy, Fatma Yıldırım, Birgül Güler, Hande Baladin, Tuğba Şenoğlu, Tutku Burcu Yüzgenç,
Liberos: Derya Çayırgan, Buse Kayacan, Gizem Örge, Dilara Bağcı, Bihter Dumanoğlu, Melis Yılmaz

For setters, it is secure that Naz and Gamze will be our setter duo for next Olympic circle. Ezgi and Çağla will most probably play in U23 team too. Although they showed good performance this year they are still far from Naz and Gamze's level and to be honest, Cansu and Arelya from younger generation seem to have more potential than Ezgi&Çağla.

For Opps, aka our weakest position, we don't have much options. Meryem Boz and Polen Uslupehlivan seem to be the best candidates since other two younger options, Ceren and Ceyda had comparably weaker seasons. Since this position is quite problematic, Guidetti might consider to call Neslihan for one last time.

For MBs, Eda and Kübra had fantastic seasons, Also Dicle's performance during the playoff series was great. That's why these 3 players most probably secured their slot in the final roster. Last slot will be taken either by great prospect Zehra Güneş or Beyza arıcı, given that she would repeat her club performance in NT too.

For OH position, as you would notice, our smallest player pool is unfortunately this position since most of clubs use their foreigner spot for OH position and other good local OHs were at the bench of big clubs (Melis Durul, Cansu Çetin, Meliha İsmailoğlu, Şeyma Ercan and Gözde Yılmaz ) Apart from 3 offensive OHs and 2 defensive OHs, Tuğba Şenoğlu is the only all-around player we have. That's why I hope Guidetti would adopt her to senior team ASAP. On the other hand, both Güldeniz and Seda had good seasons too, so although they are not young Guidetti might still call them for at least upcoming ECh.

For the libero position, indeed hands down two best players were Nihan Güneyligil and Gülden Kayalar. Pity that both are retired this season. Gizem Karadayı sit on the bench of Volero Zurich for entire season and she was not the favourite player of Guidetti anyway. Thus I don't expect her to get a call. Best candidates seem to be Gizem Örge and Melis Yılmaz. However, both are receiving specialized players. Thus, Guidetti might pick a more defensive libero instead of Melis for the final ECh roster.

To make it clear, the players I listed above do not represent my wishlist. This is only to show our options for each position. Looking forward to see Guidetti's wide roster :box:

I think Cansu Cetin can turn out into a very good OH.. She just needs to play as a starter next season in some club.. Maybe Galatasaray can hire her instead of Guldeniz? She would be a very useful player for the NT.. And she's already better than Fatma Yildrim if you're asking me

I agree! I thought she woulnt kill a single ball in the front row but she obviously can.

@serdar, as you mentioned, we are lacking players in two positions: opposite and defensive OHs. I will be very surprised if Guidetti chooses an opposite like Meryem who has very low technical capabilities. I hope Neslihan comes back. For the defensive OHs, I hope one of the Gözde & Guldeniz will show up. Guldeniz has a good connection with Gamze. The problem is, Fatma Yildirim had a very shaky season, actually her receiving stats were worse than Horvath in her club. Birgul did a good job but she was carrying a team all alone and that explains why she became such a scorer OH and why her receiving stats dropped. For this summer, I would call Tugba Senoglu only for youth tournaments to boost her self confidence and make her gain experience in Vakifbank during next season until she becomes mentally ready for senior NT. This position is indeed the hardest choice for Guidetti since all options are open to question except Neriman. My choices would be Neriman, Hande, Gözde or Guldeniz, Fatma Yildirim and Birgul Guler (because she is a great serving sub).

I not agree with busra, bahar, melis durul, cansu çetin, seyma, meliha, gozde YILMAZ, ozgenur, ceren cihan, simge.

i miss ceyda aktas, dilara bagci, damla, tugba, burcu, yasemin, zehra. maybe they ( no ceyda, dilara and damla) will play european championship for world U20.

If we are talking about senior NT, then there is no place for Ceyda Aktas, Damla Cakiroglu (division 2 player), Tugba-Burcu-Yasemin-Zehra who need to prove themselves in smaller tournaments, in their age categories and in better teams this season. Dilara is the only one I can agree.

Did Gözde Kırdar retired from the NT or what?

What about Özgenur Yurtdagülen, Selime İlyasoğlu and Sinem Barut? I remember them from when Leo and Berg played in Turkey and I used to follow the championship. They were quite good when they played.

?????????????
Ceyda aktas was impport opposite for nilufer this season. damla played in A2 but played so good. and meliha? gozde yilmaz? seyma ? cansu çetin? you prefeer players back up than players playing in 6 players ?!!! :wall: :wall: what doing ? selfie??? you see tugba this season? she played so strong, zehra and yasemin also. what busra and bahar played this season?
sometimes i think in turkey you only need "play" in big team. you can stay in back up but you will call for national team

And Nilufer almost relegated from the division. Damla played so good but against terrible blocks and bad defenders. Gözde Yilmaz and Cansu Cetin won't make it to ECH qualifications anyway. This list will be reduced to 14 people and most of these names wont be there. Meryem is on the list and she is from a small team, same for Ceren Cihan, Fatma Yildirim etc.

Selime and Sinem are in really bad shape since they left GS. They were actually bad back then. Gözde Kirdar said she would retire but looks like she wont.

33 players in the wide roster that will play in world qualification tournament and ECh this year as following:

Setters: Naz Aydemir - Gamze Alikaya - Çağla Akın - Ezgi Dilik
Opps: Neslihan Demir Darnel - Meryem Boz - Polen Uslupehlivan - Ceren Kestirengöz - Melis Durul
MBs: Eda Erdem Dündar, Bahar Toksoy Guidetti - Büşra Kılıçlı - Diclenur Babat - Özgenur Yurtdagülen - Kubra Çalışkan - Aslı Kalaç - Beyza Arıcı
OHs: Gözde Kırdar - Güldeniz Önal - Seda Aslanyürek - Neriman Özsoy - Fatma Yıldırım - Gözde Yılmaz - Cansu Çetin - Meliha İsmailoğlu - Şeyma Ercan - Hande Baladin
Liberos: Merve Saniye Delbeler - Sebnem Simge Akoz - Cihan Ceren - Buse Kayacan - Gizem Örge - Melis Yılmaz

I guess, since it is Guidetti's first tournament, he invited so many players just to see current shape of each player. I remember he always worked with a small group of player in German NT (of course main reason could be simply that Germany does not have a big pool of NT level players anyway). The announced roster almost identical to the one that I predicted in my post above. However there are a few surprises:

Setters: It is not hard to guess that Naz & Gamze will be the setters and Çağla & Ezgi will be mainly used for U23 tournament. My other candidates were Arelya Karasoy and Cansu Özbay but maybe Guidetti did not want to invite so many setters since this position is not open for much competition anyway.

Opps: As expected Neslihan is invited again due to lack of good candidates for this position. Most probably either Polen or Meryem will be the backup Opp depending on their performance during the camp period. To me, Ceren Kestirengöz and Melis Durul don't have realistic chances for final roster. Since Melis Durul was mostly bench player in Vakıfbank, I ineed expected Ceyda Aktaş to receive the invitation instead of Melis at least Ceyda played as starter Opp/OH whole season with Nilufer Belediyesi

OHs: Again as expected veterans Gözde, Güldeniz and Seda got invitations since most of other OHs were not starter this season. Although all 3 deserves to be in NT, I can't imagine they will keep this level for 2020 OG. Gözde and Neriman's spots are probably safe for final roster. Fight for back up of Neriman will be between Hande and Seda whereas Güldeniz and Fatma will fight for a spot as second defensive OH next to Gözde. I would have picked up Hande since she is young and promising however I feel like Guidetti will go for Seda since he praised for her before and to be honest she played better and more consistent than Hande this season. Among Fatma and Güldeniz, it is hard to choose. Since Güldeniz is more experienced and Fatma had too many up and downs during season, I expect Güldeniz will be chosen over Fatma. On the other hand, Gözde Yılmaz - Cansu Çetin - Meliha İsmailoğlu - Şeyma Ercan were all bench players this season while Birgül Güler was trying to carry Idmanocağı single-handed :aww: :wall: Birgül's absence is the biggest surprise of this roster and the most unjust one also.

MBs: We had many good options for this position. Eda, Dicle, Kübra and Beyza will be obvious choices probably. However, if Beyza won't be able to keep her good club performance this summer I would expect that Guidetti would pick more experience Büşra over Beyza.

Liberos: Gizem Örge and Melis Yılmaz were the best liberos after Gülden and Nihan. However, Buse or Merve could be chosen over Melis if Guidetti would want to use 2 libero system since both Gizem and Melis are reception specialist liberos. Derya Çayırgan, Bihter Dumanoğlu or Dilara Bağcı should have been picked instead of Simge, who almost never played in Eczacıbaşı  No surprise that Gizem Karadayı did not get an invitation since she has sit on the bench of Volero Zurich for entire season

Apparently Guidetti wants to play with a safe roster for his first tournament since he did not invite any of good prospects ((Tuğba Şenoğlu, Tutku Burcu Yüzgenç, Zehra Güneş, Yasemin Güveli, Aslıhan Kılıç, Sinem Bayazıt) who constantly played in their clubs and showed good performances this season. I hope Guidetti will build the team around players from 1990+ generations with only Eda and Neriman as experienced players. It is obvious that Neslihan, Gözde, Seda and Güldeniz won't be there for Tokyo

That, and German federation only allows for a limited number of players to be invited to NT training due to financial reasons.

However I wouldn't take it for granted that all players listed on CEV site are actually invited to NT. In the list of Germany there are several players that weren't invited and the list of Italy contains something like 50 players, at least way too many to count

I agree with some of your comments, especially Birgul's absence.. However I don't think Guldeniz deserves to be chosen.. Not only she was inconsistent, but also had many many troubles receiving which would be her main task in the NT. I'd honestly rather take Cansu Cetin since Gozde would start over Guldeniz any day.. Also I think Hande should be chosen.. Yes she has spent a lot of time on the bench, but she's a young prospect and her talent shouldn't be wasted.. So if there's no place for her as an OH (supposing Seda will be the second attacking OH), she should be a receiving OPP, next to Neslihan..

Neslihan, Gozde? I'm sorry but didn't Guidetti say he wanted to build a team for OG 2020? Is Neslihan gonna play there as a 37 y/o or Gozde at 36...? I highly doubt it for some reason. I'd rather have us do not perfect in the EC and build some chemistry and a strong team for the next tournaments and OG! From the looks of this we might do well in the EC but after Kirdar and Neslihan leave the NT after that tournament we will completely collapse. If this was the 'change' Guidetti had to bring then I don't mind having worthless Ferhat there. Tbh he picked the most players I expected as well but especially the two playes I mentioned + Polen and Ozgenur (who had a horrible season) is inexusable to me. Ozgenur is pretty much the worst MB of all Turkish players tbh. I don't care if Tugba or Zehra are 18. Hande is young as well and she still gets picked, Tugba had a fabulous season. I prefer Fatma over both Gozde and Guldeniz btw, But hey we still don't know the final cut and the u30 players are still there so maybe I shouldn't judge so quickly.

A lot of people seemed to have forgotten that we won't get anywhere with just Neslihan and Gozde and Neriman duo like always anymore? Remember OG qualifications, it didn't work. And this will be horrible for our younger players as well. I don't want any young player on the bench anymore! I'm glad players like Hande, Beyza, Meryem, Gizem, Fatma are there though. At least these players can all play untill OG 2020.

i agree with beri. neslihan, gozde, seda and others no is good for national. turkey need young and prosper players. i no agree with tugba, zehra, yasemin are so young. if they can play in senior, why they no play? i desagree with convocation with team. no important your team, important is your volleyball.

in 2013 after 2012 olympics games turkey start naz- nesli, gozde - neriman or seda - bahar - busra - gizem k. and turkey was TERIBLE this year. after european champ. 2013 neslihan left national team and back 2016 olympics classification and turkey lost. so, nesli, gozde, bahar is the save of national team? of course no.

why support guldeniz if we have fatma and tugba ?
why support seda if we have hande, burcu, ceyda aktas. i can't understand.
*** i agree with eda, neriman, meryem in national team

I think you are overreacting. Gözde is 32, yes it is unlikely that she will play at high level in 2020 but it is still a young age to retire from NT, she can still play in 2018 WCh. For example, Jordan Larson and Adenezia are only one year older than Gözde and I am pretty sure they will be invited to their NT. Maja Ognjenoviç and Debby Stam are even one year older than Gözde but both Netherlands and Serbia would be more than happy to have these players for next Olympic cycle too. Also you should check stats of Fatma during season, she was one of the most inconsistent player of league. On the other hand, I agree with you about Ozgenur. Especially after Guidetti said that he will only invite players who played in their clubs and then he calls all the bench players of Vakıfbank  Besides, Tuğba Şenoğlu is only one year younger than Hande and she played better and more consistent than Hande. Same with block monster Zehra Güneş. Terziç let Boskoviç play as starter during WCh when she was only 17, Egonu is at same age with Tuğba and already played OG. Those players should be given chance in early age so that they can contribute to NT for many years just like Neslihan did before and Naz and Eda are doing right now. Although Ferhat is not my favourite trainer, everybody should be grateful to him that he has the balls to take Hande to U23 roster and let her play. Ferhat is the reason why we know Hande as a promising player. Does anybody remember her league performance before the summer she was starter in U23? She wasn't even close to half of Tuğba (maybe similar to Tutku Burcu).

All in all, I strongly disagree with Guidetti's exclusion of Birgül Güler and Tuğba Şenoğlu from even wide roster while picking many bench players like Gözde Yılmaz - Cansu Çetin - Meliha İsmailoğlu - Şeyma Ercan - Melis Durul

I agree on Serdar about Birgul Guler. It is very likely that Guidetti doesnt know her and totally forgot, otherwise I cant see a reason why she is not picked. She was not only a good receiver or attacker this season but she could be used as a serve sub since she had an incredible serve performance this season. I would also pick Tugba over Meliha but instead of watching her self confidence going down, I would rather like to watch her 1 season playing in Vakifbank and then coming to the NT.

About the age issue, I am quite pissed at our girls. They make such a fuzz about retiring from very early ages. Gözde Kirdar mentioned this already last season, Gulden has been telling that she will retire after every season since last 5 years. This creates an image in people's head that they won't play in good levels in 3-4 years. But look at Carmen Turlea, she is 41 years old, opposite and did a very good job in Italian league when she came in to matches this season. Why shouldnt Neslihan play when she is 38 or Gözde Kirdar when she is 36? Human life expectancy is scientifically getting longer and with existing technologies etc, it is possible for sports people to keep their shape much longer than what older generations did at 80-90s. So don't treat players at their 30s as old people who will be useless in 2 years, this is wrong! They will most likely to be able to play volleyball in high levels upto their 40s if they want.

One more thing, the squad with Neslihan, Gözde, Eda etc has failed in OG qualifications not because they were a bad squad but because they played without any tactics and support from coach. Ferhat was terrible, Guidetti knows very well that he can already win a lot with the same squad. If you actually go back to the match against Italy, you can see that Ferhat was scared to make even 1 single substitution during 5 sets. :aww:

Again, I'm fine with all the choices considering that we won't see any of these strange names in the final rosters anyway like Özgenur, Meliha...
