  • In fact, whom Kuzyutkin (head) and Ushakov (assistant) will choose is still a difficult problem.
For example, does Ushakov like Malykh in the same club?

  • Does Russia have new, promising OHs? I only know of Voronkova do we know of other bright young things? Looking back, Kosheleva was really special in her generation. How old was she when she won Best Spiker in WCH 10? From what I see, this new Russian generation doesn't have a stand out player the likes of Kosheleva or even Goncharova (and even Natasha reached her peak a few years later).

Lazarenko is definitely the biggest thing to come out of Russia's new MBs. From the few games I watched her play, she is not your typical slow, Russian MB. Athletic and very good both in attack and block. She and Zaryazkho could very well be the MB starters Russia needs. The biggest question I think now in NT (aside from main setter) is who would be second opp. It's surprising Malkyh's name is not on the list, as well as Stolyarova. Surely both are better than Malygina right now.

Lastly, I think Pankova's days as main setter for NT are numbered. Even in Moscow, she is regularly switched with Vetrova in most of their matches. The one thing she has on her side is that she is both younger than Startseva (not by much) and of course Babeshina. Speaking of Babeshina, I would love for her to come back in the NT. I think she is a great setter, but I think her style of play is wasted in NT with slow high balls. With Kuzyutkin back in the helm, it will be interesting if he will have a predilection for Startseva as main setter.

  • - Kosheleva and Goncharova will not play the Grand Prix.

    - Ekaterina Pankova, Anastasia Samoilenko, Irina Voronkova and Natalya Malykh are out.

    - The setters are Startseva, Vetrova, Romanova and Filshtinskaya.

""Once I gave a chance to very young players like Kosheleva and Goncharova." During the three years of our work together, I did not express any censorship - that they tried to get on the team with a lot of work. The same thing happened in 2009, when I took over the national team after the failure in the Olympic Games of As a result, in 2010, we became world champions. "

  • @canhotorodrigo Thanks for the update! So my hunch was right all along. Koshe and Goncha will only play in the most important tournaments this year: WCH qualies in May, Yeltsin Cup (?) and most likely will return for EuroVolley 17. Seems like Russia will field mostly a new and young team for the GP.

  • CEV officially announced an expanded list of Men & Women of the national team for qualifying tournament of WCH18
Roster of Women's Team as below:

Opposite hitter: Daria Malygina, Nataliya Goncharova, Anna Lazareva, Ekaterina Petrova
Outside hitter: Tatiana Kosheleva, Irina Voronkova, Maria Forlova, Angelina Sperskayte, Ksenia Parubets, Yana Shcherban, Yulia Kutyukova, Victoria Russu, Anna Kotikova
Middle Blockers: Irina Fetisova, Ekaterina Orlova, Ekaterina Polyakova, Ekaterinas Efimova, Irina Zaryazhko, Angelina Lazarenko, Lesya Evdokimova
Libero: Anna Malova, Ekaterina Tretyakova, Ekaterina Ulanova, Alla Galkin

  • sorry, but i try see the list of russia and others like turkey and i no see the names of players

  • This is just an expanded list.
The Russian coach has already stated that he will not call some players, such as Pankova.
Some players like Russu, Larazenko and Kotikova will play the U-20 World Championship, and will not play in the adult team either.
I believe this list is only in case any major players suffer any serious injuries.
From this expanded list, we can already count on the team Pankova, Lazarenko, Russu and Kotikova. The other players are in training normally.

  • OMG Makhno :what:

  • OMG Makhno :what:

This should not be the former OH, Lesya Makhno-Evdokimova. She has retired in 2013.
I think the MB should be Ekaterina Evdokimova, a MB born in 1994 and in the VC Uralochka-NTMK.
