The best player/coach 2007 - voting

    The year is almost over so I think that we should choose the best player (male/female) and coach of men's and women's team.


    Rules:
    1. You can vote only once
    2. Choose 3 male players and 3 female players
    3. The player on the 1st place gets 3 points, 2nd place (2 points), 3rd place (1 point)
    4. Choose 1 coach of men's team and 1 coach of women's team
    5. The end of voting - 27 January



    I know that on the forum we have users which like only women's or men's volleyball so if you want you can vote in only one category.

    Based on this year results, I have choosen my candidates:


    Best Coach


    -Massimo Barbolini (He won almost every competition this year - with Perugia (Italian League, Cup of Italy, CEV Cup) and with Italian NT (Euro Champs, World Cup)


    Best Players


    1) Taismary Aguero (Last year the queen of volleyball was Lioubov Sokolova, this year the new queen is in my opinion Tay. With Italian NT was simply unstoppable. Very important in key moments of the match. She spiked, defended and served on very high levels)


    2) Simona Gioli (She won practically every competition she was in with Perugia and Italian NT. MVP of the World Cup. Great personality, the real leader of the Italian NT. This year one of the best blockers and attacker of slides.)


    3) Kasia Skowronska (She became an opposite and almost immediately became accostumed to this new role. She is one of the best attackers of 2007. A lot of room for improvement)

    Women Players


    1. Naz Aydemir - A superbly talented young setter who set her team, Eczacibasi, to a 2nd consecutive Division 1 league championship in Turkish DI at the age of 16. Youngest setter to start at Champions League at the age of 15... Captain of the Turkish Youth National team who made history by winning 2nd place in World Championships. Member of junior and senior national team as well.


    2. Tay Aguero - I don't think anything further needs to be said... She made the difference for Italy this year.


    3. Paula Pequeno - best OH in the world right now in my opinion.

    2. Semen Poltavskiy (for his consistency. Would have been my number one if his teams - Dynamo and Russia - had not failed twice to win both the Champion's league and the European Championship in Moscow)
    3. Sergio (because liberos are always forgotten in this king of list, and there's got to be a brasilian somewhere ! :D )

    Vladimir Alekno (for bringing Russian NT back at the place it deserves)

    BEST MALE PLAYERS


    1. Giba - Undoubtedly the best player around. He can do pretty much anything, and his speed and energy is just amazing, even though he is not young at all.


    2. Ricardo - He changed the way we play volleyball. Lots of setters have learned to play at fast speed but you can never beat the master. No one can set a pipe like him. NO ONE....


    3. Poltavisky - Best spiker out there. If only he had more confidence during key moments.....



    BEST MALE COACH


    Bernardo Rezende - He did what no one else could. And he WILL take home the Gold in Beijing to crown his amazing career.

    I won't vote for male, since I have no idea what's going on there, outside Brazilian and Russian NT :lol:
