90's volleyball, is this quality worth uploading?

  • Hello All. I haven't been here for a while, but I'm working on digitising my volleyball tapes again. I bought an easyCap device and this is the quality i'm getting:

I'm bit dissappointed with and wondering if this quality if worth uploading at all?

Keep in mind that the wuality of VHS isn't that great to begin with. THis is the kind of quality I would get when using a DVD recorder:

  • Ha, the man is alive, welcome back, first of all :)

You can't really do miracles with old footage, the video quality was different back then. But the quality of both links is acceptable and is totally worth uploading, no need to ask ;) Do you have the whole games, especially Netherlands vs. Cuba on the second video, or just that fragment?

  • Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure why but I'm getting better quality now all of a sudden/ I'm uploading Bulgaira vs Poland from WL 2006.

I have so many tapes, I have no idea what's on them. I have a couple of NL vs Cuba World Leagues games where Portuando and Cala were young, that I can remember. That fragment is all I have of that game though.

If your video's height is less than 360(ex: 512x288 ), I recommend you convert to 360 before you upload to Youtube. This step can keep the video quality better.

  • Right, I'll keep that in mind.

This is the quality I'm getting now:

I don't know where I should ask this question, maybe topic about 90's would be good.
I watch last time a lot of 90's women's volleyball and discovered Ana Moser. She was really great player and I'm wondering why she didn't go 2000 Olympics (?). She was on World Cup 1999, but I can't see her year after. Does anybody know why shy disappeared? And Ferdnanda was absent because of Rezende?

btw on youtube there was added a lot of womens volleyball videos from 90´s, early 00´s thanks to some fan of Artamonova, mostly the videos of Russian NT, Japan league, really worth to see it...btw Zhenya was really a monster in her best years, she was far better than Gamova even as a spiker

    Great effort, thank you

Already discovered young Nummerdoor and watching Marshall jumping in his prime is still pretty amazing 8o

  • And Ferdnanda was absent because of Rezende?

Fernanda retired from the NT in 1998 after failing to reach a medal at the WCH.
She came back in 2003 to try a medal at the Athens OGs and also failed, so she quit again.
She tried to come back in 2008 but the coach didn't accept her.

Fernanda actually retired from the NT and from volleyball itself several times during her career.
