USA NT for 2010 season

  • USA welcome back Olympic champions for World League
USA coach Alan Knipe has welcomed back three members of the 2008 Olympic Games winning team - middle blocker Ryan Millar, outside hitter Reid Priddy and outside hitter Riley Salmon – for the 2010 FIVB World League as he looks to build on USA’s sixth place finish in last year’s edition.

Knipe’s 22-strong squad contains a total of 10 Beijing Olympians with setter Kevin, middle blocker and team captain Tom Hoff, libero Rich Lambourne, middle blocker David Lee, outside hitter Sean Rooney, opposite Clay Stanley and outside hitter Scott Touzinsky all part of the 2009 side.

“Our team gained a lot of valuable experiences last year during World League." Knipe, who made his debut as USA men's coach last year, said. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to build on those experiences during World League this summer."

“Chances are many members of that team will also compete for us at the 2010 FIVB World Championship in September and October.”

The roster will be cut to 19 players by April 30. From that 19-man roster, 12-14 players may be chosen to play at each World League weekend (14 players are allowed as long as two of them are liberos).
