The beginings of the club are reaching in the year 1970. At that time it was called ŠD Ribno. First president of the club was Zdravko Silič. At the begining there was only a men team and it was making progress very fast. Soon they were in second Slovenian league and in couple of years they were already in first league.
In year 1973 OK Bled played its first game with Yugoslavian teams. They lost with 3 - 0 but it was a great expirience for them.
5 years after establishment they were already in second Yugoslavian league. In season 1975/1976 woman team played its first game. In the year 94/95 they have won Slovenian league. In season 1999/2000 men's team won national championship and since then they are among the best in Slovenia.
Since then they have won many different cups and trophies. Realy good season was in years 2006/2007 in which they have won all 4 competitions they competed in: National champisonship, Slovenian cup, Middle Europe league and Top teams cup. since then they were nationasl champions every year.
In year 2008/2009 Glenn Hoag start leadu+ing the team and they classified in 1/8 finals of champions league. Next season is probably the most sucsesful on the history of club. they win both Slovenian competitions, Middle Europe league and they classified to final four of champions league.
After that season Glenn Hoag leave ACH and Igor Kolaković starts leading team. They have won many competitions under his leadership but Glenn Hoag is probably still considered as the most sucsesful manager of ACH Volley Ljubljana.
