Players of Each Decades?

  • There are lots of great and talented, elite volleyball players who makes this sport such worthy of watching and folllowing by all over the world. As most of volleyball supporters claim that each decades there is one player who impresses all volleyball supporters with her career, spectacular combinations, unique talent, fighting spirit. In my opinion, Lang Ping is 80s and Mireya Luis is 90s Best Player! The name above are most successfull ones of their position with their both talents and careers. So when you consider all players which player in this decade is THE BEST?

My candidate Fofao or Ravva. Maybe Fofao is one more step better

  • Given the fact Brazil was one of the most regular national teams of the last tournaments I would choose Fofao. I think she was always a key factor for Brazil winning tournaments and to me she was the true MVP of the last OG.

Lo Bianco and Sokolova always gets more praise than Fofao and I like them all but I can't seem to forget the way Russia and Italy played the last OG.

  • Natalya Mammadova

  • SIMONA GIOLI and TAISMARY AGUERO!
We have to look also the age of the players. For example Fafao began to play starting six at 29-30 age, after Fernandinha! So other players has chance to win more awards in the Future. Ther aresome players who is just 25 but plays about ten years in NT starting six! So for this moment for me -this is Gioli or Aguero!

  • i wrote the major success for each players, not league championships or friendly tournaments ;)

  • one determining factor when they select these players seems to be that they need to have won an olympic gold, in addition to world champs or world cup. Lang Ping was a determining factor in a team that won all three. Mireya Luis a determining factor in a team that won 3 olympics and 2 world champs (although she was on the bench most of the time in the 2000 olympics). Although Lorenzo Bernardi was elected "player of the century" without an olympic gold (but he had 2 world championships and a world cup).

Hard to find someone who dominated over an olympic cycle (world-champs to world cup to olympics) more than another particular player. Fofao, Sokolova, Gamova, PIccinini and Aguero would all have to be in that mix.
