And now few comments...

Lube: they had probably the best MBs couple of the Italian league, and changed it to gain the third or less.
Plus, if they want to use Stankovic in the Italian League, Grebennikov can be only an OH for the back row, and not for Osmany (unless other substitutions foreign-italian for setter and opposite).
And again they have 5 OHs, with two italians recovering from an injury.
Logic in Lube = :gone:

Modena above all in the MBs department, followed by Perugia (imho).

Difficult to say which one is the best diagonal setter-opposite. What do you think?

And about the OHs couple? I'll say Modena also here, I think...

About the calendar, it seems Modena and Trento have a quite soft start, while Piacenza will have a tough one.
Perugia has a quite interesting schedule from the 6th to the 8th match :white:

I'm pretty worried about our diagonal setter-opposite (Orduna is an enigma in top teams and Vettori is...well Vettori), but on the contrary this year we have a pretty good bench. By the way I don't like neither Lube (Blengini and Grebennikov on the bench? Oh no) nor Perugia (who is going to receive?).

The overall level is higher than last year: Trento and Verona weakened, but "little" teams are stronger.

Micah Christenson needs a knee surgery for an injury he had during the final phase of the OG (as far as I understood, not that severe, but still a surgery).
So, Lube is looking for another setter (I don't know if as titular or second) for the beginning of the season.

:(

Ps if they could find an italian setter (or if they'll play with Corvetta), at least Grebbnnikov will be able to play as libero...

I hope for an Italian setter, I want to see Grebennikov on the starting 7. By the way I presume that sometimes Stankovic will be the one who will stay on the bench

They signed Yoann Jaumel. No starting 6 + 1 for Grebennikov. :wall:

It is that sure that the French will play as first setter?

Well, I expect/expected Corvetta to be titular just because that will/would allow Grebennikov to be a starter, so this isn't the case ;)

Blengini's words about the foreign problem in Lube:

Quoted

Ora con l’operazione di Christenson in realtà il problema non c’è. Corvetta lo sostituisce e Grebennikov può giocare. Ma riusciremo comunque a gestire anche il dopo".

Quoted

Now with Christenson's surgery actually there isn't any problem. Corvetta will replace him and Grebennikov will be able to play.
But we will manage to handle it also in the future.

As I said, sometimes Grebennikov will stay on the bench, sometimes Stankovic. I don't think that's going to be problem.

There's another problem for Lube. If Juantorena gets injured? Who will play? Kovar? :white: And what about if Juantorena needs to rest?

Kaliberda...pretty solid replacement if you ask me.

And what about if Juantorena needs to rest?

Rest? why should he need to rest? :P

About Stankovic/Grebennikov, I think you're right but let's remember – if they didn't change the rule!* – that if you have one foreign libero, both the liberos will count as foreign.
http://dal15al25.gazzetta.it/2016/06/01/…no-a-questanno/

That means Stankovic/Grebennikov it's not a choice you can make during the game, but in order to use Grebennikov you have to begin the match knowing that Stankovic will stay on the bench, unless using two italians OHs (or Corvetta, or Casadei...).

And if they'll play with Pesaresi (as only libero, obviously), one between an OH/Grebennikov won't even stay on the bench.

*I tried to check it but didn't find nothing, may be after all they did change it... ?

Watching our friendly matches, I'm quite worried about our new setter

Finding a replacement for Bruno as good as the brazilian is impossible. You got used to Bruno, that's all. He made the worst Brazil NT ever olympic champion, it talks for itself.

Oduna is a very good setter. I must say I admire he came to Modena right after the brazilian. Very brave move. If you compare them, that's the moment your fears run out.

I missed that post, probably because at the time I was writing my answer!

Kaliberda in general can't be considered Juantorena subs because he is foreign, and considering that Lube already has problem letting Grebennikov playing, it will be really unusual to see Juantorena being replaced by a foreign.

In case, it seems Kovar is playing quite well during the friendly matches, so he seems to be the natural replacement for Juantorena, if not even for the second foreign OH in order to let both Stanokovic and Grebennikov playing.

Still, Blengini last year didn't let Osmany rest very much...

Ps I really like Kaliberda and I'm curious to see if he will take Cebulij place as titular, later... now he is playing the ECh qualification so who knows.
