  • The local player José Carlos Romero, champion team member, was awarded as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the NORCECA Boys U-19 Volleyball Championship held at the Sports City Coliseum.


    Romero was also awarded as the Best Opposite Player with 89 points (62 in attack; 9 in block; and 18 in service); finishing third one among the best scorers. In addition, he was awarded as the Best Server with 18 aces in 71 attempts for 1-point average per set.


    The Best Scorer Award went to Bayron Valdéz from Dominican Republic with 128 points (119-6-3), followed by Jonny Zeledón from Nicaragua with 101 (95-5-3).


    The Best Spikers were Cristian Rojas (CUB) and Valdéz with 50.94 and 41.75 effectiveness rates, respectively.


    Eduardo Krauss (MEX) and Nazyr Francis (ANT) excelled as the Best Blocker and Second Best Blocker, in that order.


    Lázaro Arrechea and José Alain Camejo, both of them from Cuba, were distinguished as the Best Receiver and Best Setter, correspondingly.


    Luis Amador (NCA) was awarded twice as the Best Digger and the Best Libero.
