Brazil - Superliga 2016/2017

  • Sesi seems the more balanced and stable team, but Leal just came up with the very big points at the crucial end of the sets. Douglas is really coming into his own in recent matches! I feel like Simon should be doing more on Sada's side....Really good use of serving in the match - its an enjoyable match to watch because you don't know who is going to win! Sada really miss Wallace!!!

  • Best match of the league so far. I wish SESI had won solely to make things more interesting, but yeah, really intense and high-level play all the time. I wonder if Murilo would've made a difference had he played today.

I'll update the results of the last round later.

  • The best match by far. Hopefully Taubate can resurrect their play, I can see the play-offs being very interesting..

As well as Murillo has been playing lately - don't think he would have made much of a difference imo. Douglas has been the go to outside player. The match was always going to be decided by the lucao/Bruno duo. I have been very impressed by Theo actually. His consistency made Bruno give the Sada block some headaches.

  • Sesi played with Bruno, Théo, Lucão, Leandro Aracaju, Fábio e Douglas. Líbero – Douglas Pureza
    and Rafa, Alan, Vaccari

But they did not play in neither Sesi`s or Brazil Kirin`s arena, they played in Belem (PA), I think it is because one of Brasil Kirin`s sponsors is from there, it had 7.500 people.

  • I checked the results from the past Superliga and Cruzeiro lost 4 times.

But there`s a blogger Bruno Voluch and he posted before the season started, saying Cruzeiro would go this whole season undefeated. That`s why I`m glad they lost.

  • WHAT
    A
    MATCH

    :obey:

Funvic/Taubaté beat SESI-SP for the Brazilian Cup title by 3-0 (25/17, 25/21, 30/28/). The last two sets were seriously some of the best I've ever watched. I'll update the thread with the video for the full game once it's up on Youtube.

Did Lucarelli play? I saw he was injured in the last match.. I cant wait to watch this match!!!!!!!!

  • ^ He didn't! He'll probably be out for a few weeks. Vinicíus and occasionally Japa played in his place.

Good for Vinicius to get a chance. I like his energy! Poor Lucarelli, it was a weird incident as well - he kinda tripped on himself! He has been unlucky with injury since the Olympics - his game is not quite at the same level as before..

  • I am 3 sets into Sada vs Sesi semi, it is hands down one of the best matches I have ever seen.
