  • Auch, narrow victory by Belgium after being two sets down against Slovakia:

    BELGIUM 3 21 24 25 25 15
    SLOVAKIA 2 25 26 14 23 11

Thomas Rousseaux (wing attacker - son of Emile Rousseaux, current coach and former Belgian volleyball star) is normally best player in Belgian team but he's barely recovered from an injury.
I don't see François Lecat in official 12 - also very talented wing attacker, he's the only player who's not participating in the volleybal school program. Usually he is part of the starting line-up.
But for some reason, he's not in the team that needs to qualify.

  • Grecce is better than Czech Rep.?? WOW!!! 8o

  • Sorry about my english is not really well :) , but I would like ask something about two teams on this championships. Which one is better and what do you thinkk who gonna win today match Slovenia vs Belarus ?

Btw you can watch the match here http://volleyball.bg/?p=2710

It strats at 18:30 EET. The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation will broadcast it   so I am not sure for the quality and of it will be reachable outside Bulgaria, but you can try...

You can also watch a small video from Bulgaria - Belarus 3:1 match, played yesterday here:

  • Thx nadejda and YavorD for your answer. I'm greatful! :)

    no problem

And YavorD is reading my thought :D

Again nothing new with our team. How come we only produce good opposites wheras 'reception' and 'defence' remain unknon word in the Bulgarian volleyball voccabulary....

  • Poland- Romania 3:0 (25:13, 25:12, 25:18 ) :)

Exactly my thought when I saw you posted a few seconds before me  I didn't watch the game, I don't know how they received, one thing I can say is that Stanislav Velichkov plays as a receiver in this youth NT, he normally comes in as a libero in Marek, so I believe reception can't be that bad.. Besides, he scored 14 points if I am not mistaken, so there's a hope in this generation, especially with Nikolay Penchev's abilities added :)

  • Here is some statistic from the matches playd in pool D in Sofia

Spanish team looks really strong and a favorite to take a place in the ECH. They are leading with 2/2 wins. Same for Bulgaria. Also the teams from Croatia and Slovenia still have a chance to fight for a place while Belarus already count 3 loses and will face the strong Spanians today.

  • Can You give the statistics of the Women's competition please :)

  • Can You give the statistics of the Women's competition please :)

    Sorry, I don't have it :|
I've found this statistic in the local media here for the matches played in Sofia only (statistic is taken by the statistician of the BG team). Probably some of the users from the host countries of the Women's tournaments will be able to help you with this info if posted in the local press.

Thomas is still recovering from his injury and he's playing as a libero for the moment.François Lecat can't play because he just had an appendix operation so our two best wing spikers are out.Don't forget about Jens Christiaens who is our best opposite player and was already playing with the junior team...He's out too.I hope our team can qualify for the main phase because with our three main stars we can be so much better than we're now!

  • Our team qualifies for the ECH!!! :cup: :dance6: :dance6:
