    Ranking after regular season

  • Hi guys, tell me all infos about Men's French League, I mean TV coverage (how many matches a week? and what channel broadcasts French League?), capacity of halls, how much ppl go for volleyball matches in France and etc.
PS: I guess NLV is very strong league (to my mind 3rd place in Europe) and I'd like to know much about it. Please let somebody write here as much as possible about NLV. Thanks in advance

  • TV coverage : see here. (Don't be mistaken almost all the games are IECL games!)
Out of the semi final and final of the championship, there were not any game of the championship broadcast on TV. Only broadcast were on internet and LNV's website. These games are available here.

For the capacity of Halls, you can see it here. Tours used to have a better attendance (2500 two or three years ago), but the team played very poorly this year.
There is a rule which states that the Hall must be 2000 seats minimum, but a lot of teams (Sete, Ajaccio, Asnières, and even Paris) are not respecting this rule. The biggest Hall are Toulouse's and Montpellier's (over 4000 seats) but they are not used for volleyball only.

In France, volleyball has the lowest attendance of all major team sports. (soccer, rugby, basketball, handball and ice hockey)

  • It's a pity that LNV isn't interesting in France. There are a lot of strong clubs over there. I saw Poitiers during Challenge Cup and they made a big impression on me. You have plenty of valuable players in LNV.
PS: I have a favor for French-speaking ppl. Could you translate into English important news from the Net or newspapers about LNV. I'm very interested in the league but don't know French unfortunately. I'd be pretty grateful. Thanks in advance

  • I'm afraid I don't have enough time right now to fully translate newspaper artcile. But I can update you with the most important news.

People are talking a lot about transfers right, now, and I put most of the news (at least the most important) in this topic.
And of course the other major topic is the limit of foreigner players. I heard that all palyer will have a "let us play" shirt for warm-up before the 1/2 finals of the championship.

  • How many victories are required (semifinals and finals)? It seems to me that in France a team needs two victories at the semis to advance to the finals, but I have no idea if the same applies for the finals as well (in Greece it's three to enter the finals, and again three for winning the championship). So, is it two or three victories??

  • Will tommorow's games Cannes-Poitiers and Paris-Lille be available to watch on the Net?

  • The team have to win two games, and the schedule is 1 away game, then 3 home games (if required) for the best ranked of the two teams.

(so it is different of the italian schedule: 1 home, 1 away and possible tiebreaker home for the best team)
edit: => my mistake, the rules just changed this year and now the schedule is exactly of the same kind than in Italy. Sorry !

Since the semi finals will be broadcast on sport +, there will be no broadcast on the net ...

  • Semi final first game (15/04/2008 ):
