    Agree! These three guys have been the core of success not only for Belgorod but for Russian NT for quite a lot of years already! Though I, personally, like Khtey very much, Kossarev should not be on the bench during games like these... Apparently, the combination Shipulin has created is successful, I just hope they show it in the play-offs :)

    KOLCHINS: I WILL STAY IN FAKEL FOR TWO YEARS
    Boris Kolchins confirms that he will stay at the helm of Fakel for two more years.



    On Saturday the Russian men volleyball Superleague regular season completed as Fakel from Novy Urengoy grabbed three points from Belgorod and finished atop of the standings.


    "Of course this match was a matter of principle for Lokomotiv-Belogorye, but Shipulin took their loss calmly", said Fakel head coach Boris Kolchinc to Sport Express.


    "He congratulated me with our victory, and in return I wished him good luck in Athens, where his team will be fighting for the CEV Champions League trophy".


    "Our championship is so unexpected, that we are always doubtful ahead of any game. We were lucky to take one points from Lokomotiv in Novosibirsk last week, because our rivals really played much better".


    "However that loss didn’t make us upset ahead of Saturday match in Belgorod. When we were five points behind in the third set, I told our second coach that we would win regular season in case we won the set. So as you see, I was right".


    "Our first opponent in playoffs will be Gazprom-Yugra, I know that they are so elated about it and we can understand them, because we are a real present comparing with Iskra or Dynamo. It will be impossible to guess who will be the winner, though there are no weak teams at this stage of the competition".


    "I have already settled up details of my extension contract with Fakel with the club’s bosses. I will stay at the reigns of Fakel for two years more".


    "I am convinced that this team will be able to become a really big club. It concerns not only selection policy, but also infrastructure, work with young players and many other things".


    "Fakel has a perfect basis for improvement in Novy Urengoy. Victories in the CEV Champions League and regular championship made people love volleyball and Fakel turned to be integral part of the city".


    "Russian national team head coach Daniele Bagnoli will determine the roster. If he contacts me for consultations, I will name him three players from Fakel. I am not going to unveil them now, since I don’t want to distract them from their work".

    After all the expectations is a possible coming back from Giba to play in Brasil...where two teams tried to get in touch with him..Giba confirmed that both were not possible...not even Minas or Cimed will have him next season...both teams were not able to get an agreement to bring the player back...so..he confirmed that he will stay in Russia for next season....till 2010..when he contract there ends...

    Fakel finished the regular season atop of the standings, while Gazprom were only the eighth, however it didn’t reflect on the match. Players were nervous throughout the whole game and the atmosphere at the stands was the same having won the first set, Gazprom could have celebrate victory in the second one, however a series of substitutions made by Fakel head coach Boris Kolchins helped them get back to the game when the score was 16-21. Hosts Kevin Hansen and Alexandr Novikov played firmly at the end of the set.

    A break in the regular season and playoff series helped Iskra, but their leader Giba didn’t participate in the match, because he hasn’t shaken off his injury yet. "We are tipped as favorites in this pair, but it imposes responsibility on players, because they need to keep in mind The Champions League final match in Prague", said Iskra head coach Zoran Gajic. "Nevertheless, victory will the only target for us in Novosibirsk".
