Poland - Plusliga 2011/2012

  • Now he has no other choice, he has to stay with us longer :) One year is NOT enough for me, especially considering his injury, which excluded him from the game for such a long time. No way Metodi, you have to stay with us.

  • Does anyone know if Ananiev is going to stay to recover in Poland or he will go back to Bulgaria, or maybe he will be treated in some other different country?

  • There is no info about this and I think it depends on his choice. But there is a great specialist of knee treatment in Olsztyn who cooperates with AZS and many players from various teams was treated here (e.g. Konarski and Wrona from Bydgoszcz in last season), so if he stay, he'll have best care.

That is good, indeed :) In such previous cases that we've had with our NT players, most of them were sent to some French docotor in Paris, but unfortunately I cannot remember his name. He has treated Konstantinov, Yordanov, Zhekov, Nikolov and Ananiev himself, so I suppose that there is a possibility Metodi to direct to him again. Too bad that doctors are not magicians and they cannot make miracles ;(

  • I made a clip of Metodi Ananiev

More optimistic news. I think Bulgarian users will be able to say more, 'cuz source is gong.bg. Yesterday test wasn't accurate because of huge oedema and it isn't certain that ligament is broken. And Metodi said that even if it is, treatment will take 3-6 months, so previous news were too pesimistic. Tomorrow Metodi is having a MRI and after that final diagnosis should be known. After that he and ppl from club will decide, where he will be treated.

Finally some optimistic news! Ufff...I breathed a sigh of relief, 'cause seriously 9 months seemed like forever!

AZS behaved really nicely, I guess it couldn't be otherwise. Now let's hope they will choose the best place for Metodi, where he will be able to recover fast and come back even stronger!

    Good luck Meto :flower:

  • I made a clip of Metodi Ananiev

Thanks a lot raylight! Nice clip! I really love this moment when Hernan played pipe with Metodi and Meto executed it really great, then crossed the line and joined his team mates in a hug. That was really great.

    Recover fast Metodi.

  • I made a clip of Metodi Ananiev

    Great work, raylight
So the night maybe is not that dark as we thought. Even the worst case he mentions - 6 months is much better than rumours for 9 months from yesterday. The attitude of the club towards him is obviously very good, they stand by him and support him in all ways. Well done! Now I hope that tomorrow after the MRI things will seem more optimistic. Go, Metodi :super:

It is also important to see Metodi in a good mental shape. This guy doesn't have an easy life, but let's hope he will stay positive no matter what :)

I'm curious....is it possible to extend this contract with Metodi? :D I mean...he has been always signing contracts with foreign clubs just for one year, and the same thing is with Olsztyn. It's probably the only thing which annoys me in him :D

  • Ananiev himself says that his recovery will be from 3 to 6 months if the diagnosis is confirmed.
He stated that Olsztyn will pay for all the treatments required to his recovery from the injury.
After the MRI tomorrow, he will talk again with Olsztyn's bosses to decide where to spend his money and who will help him treat his knee.
It is possible that he does not have broken ligaments. Metodi said that the knee is hurting him only when he steps on his foot.

I guess it is possible. Metodi din't get a chance for a good career so far. He has been injured or on the bench for the most part of seasons for the lats few years. I guess that was the reason he is leaving those clubs - probably is searching for a place when he will be on court, would be able to get a good shape and play. I think also there is a good chemistry between him amd Olstzyn. He likes the atmosphere and the club so his teammates also like him :) . Maybe it is possible to see him back there on the court in the green shirt next season, had the club keep supporting him on that matter.

BTW it is really nice the way Polish fans suported Metodi during this hard moments and I am happy to see you like him cause he is a good guy, unfortunately with bad luck of being injured and out of shape for long periods of his carreer. BTW ever since this incident I got the feeling that injury won't be so bad as it looks from the begining. I hope my intuition will be right at the end  . Get well, Meto!

I would be the happiest girl in the world to see him in Poland for another year! :)

Yes, I'm also getting calm. At first I was just terrified, I wanted to cry, I really felt so sorry for him, but now I feel like it's gonna be ok.
He calmed me down, 'cause when he said that his break won't last 9 months, I seriously breathed a sigh of a relief.

We love him Nadejda, really, at least I love him, couldn't be otherwise I guess, since I'm a crazy fan of almost every Bulgarian player :D
Damn, now I'm calm as never. It has to be alright! :)

  • Patrick Steuerwald is called Nano as well? :D Seriously? :D Dang, my face hurts, my smile is HUGE right now :D
Yeah, Patrick is not pure perfection in setting, but it can't get worse in my team with setters, seriously :S So yeah, he's welcome in Jastrzębie, but Paweł Zagumny is welcome more :D

I will skip this part with Metodi, my mum already told me that I'm mental, so I don't want to talk about it too much.

Cold hand. Christ, I have Bąku in my head when I think of it, imagine what could happen if not Raul, I will always repsect him for that.
As far as I remember also Gyorgy Grozer had some kind of problems with his hand, I'm not sure if it was cold hand, but something similar I guess. Poor Bata, such young age and already has to face such a difficulty. All the best man, fingers crossed!

Yep. He is a German Nano, from what I know :D Nice, isn't it?

Grozer had some problems with circulation in his hands. It was serious, considering the fact he didn't play for so long...

Horrible receiption by RR. Mika Lotman and Ignaczak, I can hardly think they're playing this seriously.
On the contrary, both teams played terrific defences.
Besides, I still didn't figure out which one is Wiśniewski. I hope he's #9 of Czestochowa because that guy impressed me a lot...

Igła started to worry me with his reception, lately :aww: As well as Mika, 'cause Mateusz has really good reception skills and he doesn't show it lately. I think Lotman's reception was the best from this trio. Looking at the statistics.

9, Martee! I wonder which guy takes 9 in our NT, Patryk or Łukasz. 'Cause they both had 9 in their clubs :whistling:

Haha, Resovia! What an awful match in their performance!
Reception was horrible, Tichacek had today big problem to play with middle blockers, that was the key. Of course, I see, that Mika still getting better, if we talk about strong and power in attack, but he couldn't receive this float serve - I want to say, that after 2nd set almost all players from AZS started to serve by float.
Grozer sucked again, I think, that Kowal lost this match because of his choices. Gontariu should play more earlier. He showed, that at this moment he can be first attacker.

OK, Czestochowa won, as polish commentator said - if all players are doing well, then they can fight for win. Janeczek/Kaminski were nice, Gierczynski fantastic. I don't know how, but I fall in love with Fabian

Why it doesn't surprise me at all? Fabian is a guy to be loved. Can't help feeling  So you can join to our circle of adoration now  To me and Martee, 'cause he likes him too. Fabian has more and more fans, I see.

Gierczyński surprised me even though I don't quite like this guy. He deserved for the MVP title. But for me the best on the court were Wiśniewski & Nowakowski. Once they played shoulder to shoulder and now against each other. I couldn't wait for this duel. And now I can't tell who was better. Anyway, both were fantastic. Man. They are just smashing :obey: How many points they both scored? Over a dozen, again. From every element - attack, block and serve. I'm crazy just thinking about it how awesome this duo could be together in NT :cheesy:

Gontariu. This guy was a little misterious figure for me. Until his enter on the court in last match. He was like the best player on Resovia side (with Nowakowski ofc). Even though I like Grozer a lot and he's among my favorites, I want to see Radu more in game, even in starting six, 'cause looking at this what he showed (again) he deserved.

And another tough game for me 'cause I like both team. So I'm the same happy for Częstochowa that they won and sad that Resovia lost. I think that loss of Resovia could hurt me less if they only played better. And they didn't. So their poor game hurted me.

Anyway...this match was pretty boring, wasn't it? Or is it just me? I just enjoyed Nowakowski and Wiśniewski, the rest was rather......pathetic, or maybe...not as impressive as they can be. Oh wait, I also enjoyed Alek Akhrem. He hasn't played full match, but it's always good to see him on the court, hopefully he will start getting better and better :)

Yeah, pretty boring. I expected to see more fight. Bu I enjoyed many players on the court in that match. Radu for the trial to save his teammates asses, Gierczyński for great game, Nowakowski & Wiśniewski you know for what  , Alek for appearing the court, finally, even if he played not so good, Fabian for his undeniable genius and Igła who, even though was rather poor in reception, he showed monster skills in defense, as always.
Oh, and I liked Adrian Stańczak. He showed nice game, seriously. I remember how much I was sometimes pissed with Dębiec's game last year. Now Dębiec plays in Delecta and he's doing better than in Częstochowa, I think. Anyway, I'm telling it because I realized that we have nice liberos in almost every team in Plusliga. And they're all polish guys. So I'm more proud with this fact

    Two more words...
I write it and say it almost everywhere and every time but I must do it again, so: METODI, BE STRONG, MAN! :flower:
And I remembered about one nice fact from last match ZAKSA - Politechnika. Do you guys hear all those fans screaming: "KUREK BARTEK KUREK!"? I heard it and I was like: "What? What? Where is he?". It was nice from the audience side considering the fact that Bartek left Kędzierzyn a couple years ago. So I think now that I can started to like fans from Kędzierzyn, 'cause I didn't quite like them and this season they impress me in a very positive way.

  • Can anybody tell me something about this kid named Malinowski, who's the second opposite in Jastrzebski?

I haven't noticed this guy until he showed up as a server in last match Kielce vs Jastrzebski. I found no information other than he's a '92-er (Damn, another player younger than me!)
So, has he played in the national team, like European junior championship? or is he good at attacking? or is he just promising, potential, cute, etc., you know, likewise words when we can't find any other positive discriptions.

  • Well, Mateusz is even for me quite misterious figure 'cause I have not many opportunities to see him playing. Now it's his first season in senior volleyball. He came to Jastrzębie from Joker Piła. From what I know, he won Polish Junior Championship in 2009, silver in 2010 and bronze in 2011. He won awards for the best attacker and MVP. I read that he wasn't called to NT 'cause coaches mainly called boys from SMS Spala.
Mateusz played beach volleyball also. In 2009, together with Łukasz Ożarski, he took silver on Polish Cadets Championship.

What more... He is 197 cm. You noticed him appearing on the court on serve. Yep. I guess he has pretty good serve. He is left-handed so we have to left-handed opposite in Jastrzębski :D He is clearly very strong in the attack - that's what I read about him. His idols are Sebastian Świderski and Karol Bielecki, so good choice from this guy:thumbup:

  • I just reviewed the match Fart vs JW. Well, I think this match is very funny, probably because I like both teams and don't know which one to support. I remembered that someone mentioned Thornton and Holmes crossed the middle line several times. I want to say it's very ridiculous. 3 of the first 11 points of Fart came from Americans' faults, which is a big surprise. Lasko played very well in the beginning, but he suddenly didn't know how to play, I think the break point is the two balls he got blocked due to Raphael set too low. Afterwards Kubiak seemed out of shape, so, no wonder JW finally lost it. What's amusing, Zibi argued with the referee several times and I kept thinking why didn't the referee sanction a yellow card. We all know Batman eats a yellow card and become superman!

Besides, I heard Bernardi's voice for the first time and realized he speaks English. I'm afraid Italian coaches who speak English all have some problem in cheering the team up. Bernardi said only "come on boys" when JW met spiritual weakness, so did Anastasi with the Poland team.

I felt so excited to watch Kielce playing such amazing game. Pujol caught my sight as usual. I wondered why he didn't cut his hair and quickly came to the conclusion that he doesn't speak Polish so he can't go to a Polish hairdresser's. What impressed me the most is Pujol's defence. Although his height limits his blocking, but he makes it up with his defence. It seems shorter players always do awesome defences, Giba, Takeshita, now Pujol, and in my opinion Woicki, who I think has good sence of defence.

And I want to talk about the little teenage adulescent younger-but-taller-than-me kid Marinowski. He really drew my attention. When Lasko sucked in the fourth set, he had a chance to play. I counted how many times he touched the ball in that period. The result is 2 times within 8 rallies, the first attack opportunity was given to him after he was on and he spiked it out. Afterwards both sides committed several faults and he soon go to the front where Lasko returned. His second touch was a defence but the ball wasn't dug up but flew to the audience. His attacking action is tooooooooooo much similar to Ivan Castellani, which made me confused: are all '92-ers spiking in the same action?

Finally, I have to say all about Fart Kielce looks hilarious. First, why their club name is fart? and they press "fart" on the players' asses, is that some kind of coincidence? And why their emblem is a weird cat! I had thought the bee of Skra is the weirdest one.

However, their jersey is the most beautiful one and intensely catches my appetite.
