    Comments:

Surprisingly no close game for the 1st day. All matches but 2 ended with a 3-0 blow. And both Poitiers and Nantes clarely dominated the game after taking 1 set to start the season.
The most interesting results is without any doubt the victory of Montpellier in Rennes. For now it doesn't say much whether Rennes is not as good as expected or if Montpellier is really greater than last season, but that's 3 points for Montpellier.
Otherwise the victory of Tourcoing in Paris (only the 2nd in the history!) is really worrying for Paris Volley. And the way Beauvais lost in Nantes (I attended the game) is also not a good news for Beauvais. Bartik appeared not at his best shape, and the team without any solution. On the other hand, Tony Krolis had a great game in spiking, and Nantes proved to have multiple solutions and two great middle spikers with Fernandez and Holubec. If one consider that Nantes made many huge mistakes and really has space to improve (including with Prennen back from injury) I'm sure Beauvais is not the first team to lose in Nantes this season, and I'm pretty sure they're going to do even better than last season!

If Lyon was no match for Tours, Narbonne and Toulouse managed to level with Sète and Cannes for at least on set. Would take more to get some points, but it's only the first game of the season.

Last but not least, the defending champion Poitiers, secured a home victory against Ajaccio unless last season when the Corsica team had won 3-2.

    Comments:

Good victory for Tourcoing against Rennes. Tours and Montpellier had an easy task against Toulouse and Narbonne. Poitiers was expected to have an easy game as well in Lyon but they struggled a little bit.
Sète clinched a second victory in Cannes (that played without Takaniko, Nganga, Le Roux and Sali Hile. Feughouo (recently back from African championship) also had very few training with the team. So overall the defeat agasint Sète is not that bad considering they took one point.
Nantes lost in Ajaccio in 5 sets (despite 34 points from Krolis). Though taking a point in Corsica is not that bad, Nantes's players are complaining about the refereeing and argue they deserved to win the game in 3 sets.
First victory for Beauvais against Paris.

Paris and Rennes are so far the only disapointing teams. They'll have a tough task next Saturday facing Nantes and Beauvais.
Two games will be of major interest: Tours vs Cannes and the derby between Sète and Montpellier.

    Comments:

Only 3 teams currently undefeated: the 3 best teams of last season, Poitiers, Tours, and Sète.
First victory for Paris and Narbonne. (over Nantes and Tourcoing), a proff that this season like the previous, many surprises are to be expected in this championship.
Since Lyon and Toulouse had complicated schedule, their current ranking is not too worrying. The same goes for Cannes who travelled in Tours with only 8 players, and had to replace Cundy (knee injury on a set point for Cannes in 2nd set) by the only man on the bench: Youssef Krou.

  • Takaniko, Nganga and Cundy injured for Cannes :white: Le Roux have also problems with injury :white: hard weeks coming for Tillie's team

Hard schedule isn't going in Tourcoing and Cannes favor so I expect a lot of problems for them :wavy:

  • paris - ajaccio score please?

livescore in Paris is often a joke ...

    edit: Paris won 3-0

    Comments:

    Cannes
still playing with 7 players could not match with Poitiers. Lyon and Toulouse shared points, leaving Rennes the only team at 0. Beauvais's defeat to Narbonne is very, very worrying for them. After two away defeat, Nantes was able to clinch a second 3-1 victory, like Paris. And Tours lost one set in Montpellier.
But the most interesting result is the victory of Tourcoing against Sète, proof that Tourcoing can match with some of the best of the championship.

    Comments:

Great victory for Beauvais in Sète. This second defeat in a row for Sète now puts Tours and Poitiers 5 points ahead of other teams, and Nantes at the 3rd place ahead of Tourcoing , Cannes , and Sète.
Still lacking many players, Cannes was able to win easily in Lyon. Tourcoing also lacked 2 starters (Simovski and Gendrey) and had to play with young players (Fidon and Villard) as opp, when US setter Jonathan Winder played as MB: too much to hope anything against Tours.
Last good restult: the victory of Toulouse in Ajaccio. Toulouse needed points after a complicated starting schedule, and brilliantly got them in Corsica where it's always complicated to win.

First victory (and points) for Rennes, (and some may say "a wasted opportunity to come back in top 5 for Paris", but I don't think Paris belong to top 5)
