  • İs there any women league, if answer yes then is there players wearing headscarf and pants while playing?

  • Quote

Hmm.. Why did so many Bulgarian Players choose Iran?

Probably because one of the main theories about the origin of our nation said that the founders of our country are people from Aryan origin and very close to the iranians. Also the name of the founder of our country Asparuh comes from persian language and means white rider. And also we have many tradions and customs which derived from the ancient religion of Iranians- zoroastrianism. Of course this is not real reason. Those who were unable to find team in Europe sign in Iran because there's good money and our players have earned respect in this country.

  • İs there any women league, if answer yes then is there players wearing headscarf and pants while playing?

Yes, and again Yes since last season for adjusting with international matches !!! :wall:

  • First week, 19th October:

    Shahrdari Tabriz - Kaleh Mazandaran 2-3 (21-25 25-13 20-25 26-24 13-15)
    Shahrdari Urmia - Barij Esans Kashan 3-0 (25-22 25-23 25-16)
    Saipa Alborz - Mizan Khorasan Razavi 3-0 (25-20 25-15 25-23)
    Giti Pasand Esfahan - Pishgaman Kavir Yazd 3-0 (25-19 25-15 25-8 )

Yeah, I think exactly Asparuh and the events that happened centuries ago are the reason for our players to choose Iran nowadays :D OK, seriously, there has just been a good relationship between these two countries expressed by some of our coaches working in Iran not so long ago. Whether because of good results or just good attitude this also opened the chance for some players to go and play abroad. We are talking about quite some names, but mainly of good national level, not really some proven world class names (with a few exceptions, of course). In Bulgaria they don't earn that well and especially this season any other championship than ours would be a better option. However, they all say the life over there is quite different compared to Europe, so only few remain for more than a year.

Talking about relationships, an Iranian team is always invited in pre-season tournaments in Bulgaria, mostly in Razlog. But with such a background it is not difficult for Iranian teams to sign some of the best players in our league.

  • Although Bulgarians of Aspraukh were huge fans of Sasanid Empire and its' culture, Kubrat, the father of Asparukh was patrician in the Byzantine capitol for long years and after that Magna Bulgaria was main ally for Byzantine Empire against Sasanids, with very good success on the battle field, so I don't think Iran based their friendship on that

  • wow, many history experts are here :D

However, they all say the life over there is quite different compared to Europe, so only few remain for more than a year.

Of course the life is quite different here but I can't remember any player (with the exception of Metodi Ananiev) playing one "good" season in Iran and not coming back for the next year. Ivanov, Tasev and Mlyakov all played good (Ivanov only in his first season) and therefore they got better offers.

It's not like that anyone who plays volleyball in Europe can plays here as an import. ^^ nobody wants a bench warmer for second season.

anyhow, Second Round results if anyone cares
