Shahrdari Urmia - Saipa
Paykan - Kaleh

• Mosi Toni Kovačević plays are regular in Urmia? How's he doing?

I can't judge his performance, I saw only a few matches of his team, Urmia is not from my city and I just can see them on TV. but yes he plays regularly, sometimes as starter, sometimes from the bench.

today they played their 2nd semifinal match and lost badly 3-0 at home in front of more than 6000 fans, I watched this match and Kovacevic played the whole match. (his reserve was absent today) the whole Urmia team, including Kovacevic, played bad and full of errors (maybe because they were under huge pressure). I can't judge by just one match but I know in general they were OK with his performances comparing to other imports.

Urmia team in 1st semifinal match against Saipa, Kovacevic is number 4

• Semifinal, Match 2, 7th March :
Urmia - Saipa 0-3 (16-25, 18-25, 22-25 ) / Saipa wins the series 2-0
Paykan - Kaleh 1-3 (21-25, 25-21, 13-25, 20-25 )

How Stanev, Simeonov and Bogdanov are doing in Saipa?

• How Stanev, Simeonov and Bogdanov are doing in Saipa?

Bogdanov played the whole season as starter. Simeonov was bench player but their best player (Arash Kamalvand, 2011 Asian Champs MVP) got seriously injured and it made Simeonov a starter. both of them are important players for Saipa right now. but Stanev is always in bench and rarely plays.

I don't follow the Iranian league much and I didn't know Stanev is a back-up setter. Thanks fo the info! I thought he finally gained some confidence now that his team made it to the final, but he turns out not be among the main contributors obviously. He's never been good enough for the NT level, so I was secretly hoping his time has finally come, especially now with the Bulgarian NT setters' crisis. Anyway, we will then watch some of the other guys during the summer.

• Thank you, Mosi :drink:

• I regularly watch games on Saipa
and I can say that Ivan Stanev is several classes
above Mehdi. Soalmostevery gamehebringssuccesstoSaipa, otherwise be at least 5th place. But as far as I know, Julio Velasco holds
all its national players to play in the Iranian volleyball league. Therefore Stanev not always holds, but it always pays to enter the match result.
He moved a lot of games by nearly 10 points difference in favor of the other team and take games..And the fans, and management see it, but nothingcan be done, because Mehdi is part from the National team .When Saipa lose in the result b , but this is almost every game, enter Stanev and take the match.

• Semifinal, Match 3, 11th March :
Kaleh - Paykan 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-23 ) / Kaleh wins the series 2-1

Final, Best of 3
Match 1 / Karaj / 14th March
Match 2 / Amol / 17th March
Match 3 / Karaj / 19th March (if necessary)

It will be the 1st time in Iran Super League history (and 2nd time overall if we count all pre-SL leagues) that a team from outside of Tehran will win the league ! Even though many people still count Saipa as a Tehran team.

Paykan won the last 6 editions ! but that was a different "Paykan", with this roster nobody expected to even reach the semifinal. As for the final, Kaleh is stronger on paper but Saipa is more organized !

• Andrea Zorzi is in Iran and is sharing some very interesting things. http://dal15al25.gazzetta.it/?s=zorzi+iran&submit.x=26&submit.y=19

Not a word for Bulgarian players and he shows the picture of Bogdanov. Is it possible for him not to know that in Iran are playing foreign players?
