  • Marek beat CSKA 3:1 and in this way they almost guaranteed their 2nd place in the regular season. They have a match against Levski and CSKA haven't played both with Levski and Pirin.

I am getting more and more impressed by Gjorgiev. He sometimes makes errors in his passing, and he made the wrong decision once or twice but he shows character, variety in his setting, a good and powerful serve and the most important thing - he doesn't seem to be shaky in the important moments. He is a nonchalant fellow like most of our closest Western and Southwestern neighbours and this helps a lot in sport and Zhekov hasn't got that quality. I'm not saying: "Call him in the NT!" but in the future he is going to be a real option, along with Dobri Dimitrov. It will be a good idea for Naydenov to let the Macedonian go if Gjorgiev gets a chance to play in a better foreign club next year.

I'm also impressed by Borislav Apostolov. He shows growth in his game and can turn into a machine if they train him the right way. The MB position in our NT is solid rock stable. Yordanov and Bakhov played well, too, although their not players that can develop much IMO. I liked Martin Bozhilov but in order for him to replace Salparov in the future, he should improve his reception. In defence he was great today. Elchinov is a disaster!!! 13% in attack! Marek is without an opposite!

I'm not going to comment on CSKA, I'm only going to say that it was a mistake for Salparov for remaining in the team this year. He should leave the club and head to Italy, Russia or Poland ASAP.

  • Where s Svetozar Ivanov? He wasn't in the roster?

  • http://www.promacedonia.org/prl/shta.html XEXEXE Macedonian, yes i'm Stan the Tracian xiixixxixioix CSKA will win this year title but in next i want young players to play and dont want results, it is just ridicilous with that white hairs....

He is in the team. The coach just prefers giving more playing time to Nikolov

    Thanks :drink:

  • Well, i must admit i was a little bit drunk when i wrote that :whistling: But why not? I mean I hope so! They are experienced and the games start with 0 - 0..... Btw I expect surprises from Levski and Marek too. Lets see what will happen, right now it is obvious that Pirin is the favourite :win:

  • Not much happening in Bulgaria these last weeks. Marek lost quite unexpectedly yesterday in Plovdiv against Victoria, their coach Nayden Naydenov was very angry (his usual style) after the defeat, but Marek for the moment seems on the safe sied with respect to keeping the second place in front of CSKA. "The reds", on the other side, almost lost in Lukovit, while Botev is still looking for its first win in the league. The derby between Levski and CSKA has been for some time not a real derby match itself. Another 3-0 for CSKA despite the good recent form of Levski.

  • Some of the last games before the play-off phase were played with several things to notice. Neftochimik made a serious progress in the second half of the regular season after adding the experienced Niki Naydenov to the roster. They are almost unbeaten in 2012, won precious victories against CSKA and Marek (away). However, they are probably going to meet Levski in the most interesting quarterfinal play-off, so for the time being Neftochimik is just gaining home advantage.

Marek will probably manage to keep the second place in the next rounds, but this is definitely not the team that started the league, they are playing worse compared to the winter period. If Nayden Naydenov doesn't motivate them soon, they will suffer in the play-offs.

Finally, Botev Lukovit showed their teeth and won twice for the first and second time this season, including a victory in Varna to start with. This momentum comes too late, they will probably relegate at the end, but at least they got closer to Victoria Volley and Cherno more in the standings. Botev play Neftochimik and Marek consecutively in the last rounds, so maybe they are capable of winning some sets before facing the relegation battles.

Today is the 21st round where Pirin play CSKA in Razlog in an almost meaningless game, which will give some prestige to the winner. It will be on TV, so if you are interested, you can search in sportlemon.tv at 16:30 CET and watch the stream.
