The opening match, streamed live on DVL TV:

Berlin Recycling Volleys - Generali Unterhaching.
    Time Tuesday, 15.10., 19.30

  • It is highly probable that the big three (Berlin, Friedrichshafen, Haching) will fight again for the title.
Whereas Berlin's roster remained more or less the same, we saw a lot of coming and going in Friedrichshafen and Haching.
Their squads look quite good on paper, but it may take some time to become a team.
    Just see:

Someone 8) wrote a good text about the upcoming season here: http://www.volleycountry.com/g…-berlin-recycling-volleys

  • BR Volleys Berlin vs. Generali Unterhaching
    Starting Time: 19.30

    Berlin wins it 3:1 (25:22, 20:25, 25:17, 25:19)
    MVPs: Kromm (Berlin), Zhukowski (Haching)

    Couldn't watch it. Anyone did?
I will post stats when available.

  • VFB Friedrichshafen added a lot of Bulgarians to their squad. The fourth place in every competition they take part in is guaranteed for them. :D

  • Do exist short videos of the match?

Full match is available as well.

    stats from yesterday: http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2013-14/Men/&1004.pdf

Btw, if someone is interested, Frhafen vs Dresden is shown today (20.00 CET) as 1-camera-stream on http://www.dvl-live.tv/

  • I couldn't watch the BRV vs. Haching match either. From what I see in the stats Unterhaching played horribly in attack, even the middles suffered.

  • First little surprise of the season: Bühl beats Frhafen 3:2 .
A lot of people rated Buehl quite high and it seems they were right.

  • Berlin surprisingly looses in Dueren and Friedrichshafen, not that surprisingly, looses at home to Unterhaching. It was 12:12 in the fifth and then Simeonov got kill blocked three times in a row. :wall:
Including Champions League, Friedrichshafen lost 3 times out of 4. I think they hadn't that kind of start for a very long time.

  • The team Moculescu had at the beginning of last year was far worse than this year's one. Had they had the same schedule last year, the results would've been the same. They are just unlucky with the programme and seemed unprepared for the CL start. Last year they even had a more than disappointing CL campaign, probably their worst ever, almost finishing on the bottom position. In the long run VfB has a decent squad and results will come. If they are fit soon enough to gain some CL momentum, they will be on the safe side as domestically they practically have no serious team (except a derby with Berlin) to meet soon. They are stronger than Haching and this should theoretically be prominent in the playoffs. However, I don't know where Buhl is gonna finish at the end of the regular season, so we'd rather wait till the important games come :)

  • Overall, Friedrichshafen has a better team than last year, i agree. For 90 % of their matches that might be enough. But if they want to win a domestic title this year, Jovovic has to make a big step forward. Moculescu seems to trust him very much but imo he still produces too many inaccuracies, especially when the going gets tough. His development will be crucial for Friedrichshafen......

Jovovic did show these inaccuracies last year as well. He played great at the ECH, that's why my hopes were that he would gradually gain the necessary confidence, even if often too difficult for a young setter. On the other side, he had the competition of Juraj Zatko last year, this year he is practically a regular starter because of his experience advantage to Zimermann. You are right, VfB will need a confident setter.

Bad news are breaking through from Unterhaching. As it looks like now, the team will draw back from Bundesliga after this season. Their sponsor, Generali, will leave and the management wasn't able yet to deliver a new one. In below newspaper article it is written, that they will still search until christmas and then will be forced to draw back. They don't sound very optimistic and Paduretu is cited: " The days are counted, thats the reality".

That would be very sad for the DVL. The league can't afford to lose a high profile team like Unterhaching. I am really hoping that someone will hear that last shout for help and everything will turn out well :obey: .

Big clash on sunday between VfB Friedrichshafen and Berlin. The match will start at 18 CET and will be live on http://www.dvllive.tv. It will be very important for VfBs self confidence, that they win this match. They already lost too many matches so far, and so there is slightly more pressure on them than on Berlin's side.

Not many new infos than those, i already posted :S
