    + 2 "wild cards"

I hope Stanford University and Pepperdine University will get the 2 reamining spots. :super:

Have 3 MPSF teams means high level. :teach:

  • FINAL FOUR TOURNAMENT
QUARTERFINALS (Held at the Gentile Pavillion on the Loyola-Illinois Campus), April 29th
    ( Seed ) TEAM - TEAM ( Seed )
    ( 4 ) Lewis - Penn State ( 5 )
    ( 3 ) Stanford - Erskine ( 6 )

SEMIFINALS (Held at the Gentile Pavillion on the Loyola-Illinois Campus), May 1st
    ( Seed ) TEAM - TEAM ( Seed )
    ( 45 ) - Loyola-Illinois ( 1 )
    ( 36 ) - Brigham Young (BYU) ( 2 )

FINAL (Held at the Gentile Pavillion on the Loyola-Illinois Campus), May 3rd
    ( Seed ) TEAM - TEAM ( Seed )
    ( ) - ( )

    The Teams by Seed
    Loyola Ramblers, MIVA Champion (27-1)
    BYU Cougars, MPSF Champion (21-8)
    Stanford Cardinal, At-large team (22-8)
    Lewis Flyers, At-large team (23-7)
Penn State Nittany Lions, EIVA Champion (24-6)
Erskine Flying Fleet, Conference Carolinas Champion (21-7)

Pepperdine was not selected because they had worse records in the combinations of tiebreakers with Stanford and Lewis. The MPSF is such as tough conference, but Lewis did beat some of the better teams in the MPSF during interconference play, so it is good that they were rewarded.

I expect two great semifinals if Lewis and Stanford advance. Plus with Lewis being so close to the host, it should be a great environment for the semifinals.

    Loyola's first NCAA Championship

First set, Loyola hit .696 with 0 errors
Stanford had four aces in the 2nd set to get a gap, which they didn't lose.
Third set, Stanford couldn't put the ball to the floor, but Loyola did
Fourth set, Loyola dominated at the net with 4 or 5 blocks.

The best team all year and they proved it in the final.

  • I notice Cody is Kyle Caldwell's younger brother. Wondering if we're gonna see the Caldwell brothers on court some time.
