Germany - Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) 2015/16

    As the transfer period in Germany is slowly coming to an end, I will try to summarize the rosters of all teams, one after the other.
    In German VBL transfers are allowed until 31st of January, but new hires between mid of September and December are very rare.


    I will note nationality and club of newly transferred players next to the name.
    For German players, no nationality is stated.
    Transfers not yet confirmed are written in italic letters.

    Thanks for posting the rosters here, Bayer. I admit that i have always been too lazy for doing so.......


    I will comment on some teams later but i would already say, that the general level of the league seems to be improved compared to last year. At the very peak, Berlin looks way ahead of all teams, including Friedrichshafen but there should be really great battles for places 2-6......


    just one correction, Luka Šormaz is a setter not OH :wavy: BTW great job for posting rosters :drink:

    First sentence: fully agree. Clubs are really trying hard to improve the overall level.


    Second sentence: I don't know. In Berlin at the moment, there are 5 very stong players, but one has to see if they will evolve as a team ...
    In Friedrichshafen one already knows that Moculescu is able to build a team that is stronger than the single components/players.


    So maybe F'hafen is not good enough to defend it's title, but they still should manage to keep the runner-ups behind then.
    If that's not the case, it would be good for the league.


    The runner-ups in this season for me will be
    1. Düren (they always had good players, but now they also have a trainer :whistle: )
    2. Rottenburg (only weak point I see in this team is the opposite position)
    3. Lüneburg (slightly improved roster but still probably best trainer in league)


    And there are two "jacks-in-the-box"
    1. United Volleys RheinMain have the best roster I have ever seen of a promoted team. BUT ... it's their first year and the level behind the first seven is not that good.
    2. Herrsching with very good recruitments. Steuerwald, Tille, Ondrovic, even Trenkler will give them a boost. Questions are their second outside and opposite position (do they have a backup for Malescha ?)

    This deserves a separate post and some special attention. Herrsching presented their new jerseys for the 2015-2016 season. You can look at them here. You can't get more rural or "bayrisch" than this :D Now, I think, I have seen everything from the Bayern region!
