True story ;) The only new names are Israel and Denmark, I would watch them if they play with the A squads, and if there are no World League games at the same time .. Actually, the same applies to all the teams in the EL, I normally follow it only in the F4 phase.. btw, Kaziyski also enjoys watching new teams, so I think he will make me some company here :) Good that laola1 gives us the chance to do so!

  • The calendar of the League Round reads as follows:

May 25-27: tournaments in GRE, CZE (resting DEN and AUT)

June 1-3: tournaments in ESP, TUR (resting ISR and CZE)

June 8-10: tournaments in ISR, ROU, (resting ESP, NED)

June 15-17: tournaments in DEN, NED (resting SVK and TUR)

I'm excited to see Israel and Denmark matches. I watched only 2-3 matches were these teams were involved, 2-3 years ago

  • Greece men’s national team will start its campaign in the 2012 CEV
Volleyball European League by playing host this coming weekend to the
first leg of Pool A in Katerini, a town located in Central Macedonia and
the capital of Pieria regional unit.

Even though the home side is evidently sidelined by the injuries
plaguing Filipov, Fragkos, Aspiotis, Kokkinakis and Koumentakis and by
the absence of some more players (Tzourits, Christofidelis, Prousalis
and Stefanou) who have decided not to join the group for this
competition, still the guys mentored by Alekos Leonis hope to deliver a
good performance to delight the audience while testing the likes of
    Israel, Slovakia and Spain.

Leonis and his assistant Sotirios Drikos have been working with a group
comprising Georgios Petreas, Michael Sarikeisoglou, Panagiotis
Pelekoudas, Nikolaos Smaragdis, Achilleas Papadimitriou (pictured),
Theoklitos Karipidis, Christos Belos, Thanasis Terzis, Thanasis
Papadimitriou, Dimitris Rizopoulos, Kostas Stivachtis, Georgios
    Tzioumakas and Ioannis Kyriakidis.

With the matches coming up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, a press
conference is scheduled for Tuesday in Katerini to officially start that
home campaign for the Greek national team.

  • Anybody knows why the CEV's website is dieing?

Born for Volleyball, lives from Volleyball, dies with Volleyball.

"When somebody is just not an equal partner to have a conversation with, the best you can do is to ignore him." Done!

  • what do u /or others think of this team?

  • Only two pools?
So the top two teams of each pool will qualify for the final, right?

The first from each group will qualify for sure, then the rest depends on the position where the organiser team (of the Final) will finish in it's group. If they are in top two then from both groups the top 2 teams will qualify, if they are not in top two then first from both groups+organiser+best second team will make it to the final 4.

  • Romania 0-3 the Netherlands

I didn't find any ads on Romanians' jersey. Are they out of sponsors?

Despite they won I can't find words to describe how poor The Netherlands was. Back in few years they were 3-4 classes above Romania and today they struggled with Romanian league NT. There were no Gontariu, Olteanu, Stancu, Birau, Voinea, Feher while Bartha played only in 3rd set. I wonder how they would trash Dutch if they were in full strenght. Kooistra is lost in time and space, he isn't shadow of Kooistra from Modena :what:
