  • Looking for Groups- 4 Teams in every Group will be enough. After round robin Qs, Ss and Fs.

Canada, Mexico, Cuba or Egypt in Qs will be earthquake in Volleyball World.

  • What those stupid people at the FIVB are doing? Polsatsport has published a schedule for itself which doesn't contain times of the matches. link
One brand-new innovation that it suggests is that in the quarter it will be a draw but for A2-B3 or A3. that means teams of the same group can face each other.

They did the A2 or B2-B3, A2 or B2-A3 matches as a way to prevent teams from losing their final match to get a "favorable" match in the quarterfinal in London. This way teams would not know their opponent until the draw after all of the matches had been played.

But this new system will cause some result fixing.

  • But this new system will cause some result fixing.

No it will not create result fixing. Both the 2nd and 3rd positions are drawn separately. So neither side will know until the draw after all of group play is finished. The only reason that B3 or A3 is listed is because of the time schedules.

    It will, unike 2012 edition.

Imagine we have 2.USA and 3.France in pool A. at the final day we have match Russia Iran in Pool B. Imagine Poland has beaten both and is first. in the 2012 edition, Russia and Iran knew that this match wont change anything because draw will decide for them to play against US or Fra and they wont try to lose or win! (the only difference would be to choose semi-final opponent).

But in this year's rule, for a example Iran or both dont like to encounter Fra so they will try to lose and become 3rd in the group. (in this edition they can choose semi-final opponent too)

  • And to add sth: the positions cant be drawn seperately because once one of the matches is determined the other is so. if we have A2-A3 draw, the other match will be B2-B3. and in 2012 edition if we have A2-B2 match the other match will be A3-B3 match

  • USA announced their 12 player roster:

U.S. Olympic Men’s Volleyball Team Roster

    3. Taylor Sander (OH, 6-4, Huntington Beach, Calif., BYU)
    4. David Lee (MB, 6-8, Alpine, Calif., Long Beach State)
    7. Kawika Shoji (S, 6-3, Honolulu, Hawaii, Stanford)
    8. Reid Priddy (OH, 6-4, Richmond, Va., Loyola Marymount)

    10. Thomas Jaeschke (OH, 6-7, Wheaton, Ill., Loyola of Chicago)
    11. Micah Christenson (S, 6-6, Honolulu, Southern California)
    17. Max Holt (MB, 6-9, Cincinnati, Ohio, Penn State)
    20. David Smith (MB, 6-7, Saugus, Calif., UC Irvine)

  • Polish wide roster for Olympic Games (20 players):

Setters: Grzegorz Łomacz, Fabian Drzyzga, Paweł Woicki
Opposites: Bartosz Kurek, Dawid Konarski, Maciej Muzaj
Outside Hitters: Michał Kubiak, Rafał Buszek, Mateusz Mika, Artur Szalpuk, Bartosz Bednorz, Aleksander Śliwka, Wojciech Żaliński
Middle Blockers: Mateusz Bieniek, Piotr Nowakowski, Karol Kłos, Marcin Możdżonek, Andrzej Wrona
    Liberos: Paweł Zatorski, Damian Wojtaszek

it's easy to choose S, OP and L to be out unless any serious injury appears - Woicki, Muzaj and Wojtaszek are out

from OHs - Śliwka and Żaliński out, 4th one probably will be Szalpuk like in Japan and Bednorz will rather stay at home

from MBs - the toughest battle is here  IMHO Wrona is out and I hope he won't be in Brazil because there are better players, it's hard to choose 1 to be out  probably either Możdżonek or Bieniek, but it can be each of this group :wavy: maybe Kłos, Bieniek and Nowakowski will go ?(

Gold medal - World League 2013 Prediction Game
Bronze medal - World League 2012 Prediction Game

  • Bieniek out? No way. He`s their best Blocker and also a great server...

  • Gold medal - World League 2013 Prediction Game
Bronze medal - World League 2012 Prediction Game

  • coming back to Polish roster: it seems that Artur Szalpuk is out because he didnt make to Final Six World League roster, then only 1 MB is to cut, maybe Nowakowski or Możdżonek ?(
