Olympic Games - 2016 | 8 | 6

  • I don't know the story behind... I thought she was the one who was scared of traveling in airplanes...wasn't there something like that? Or am I crazy?! ?( ?(

  • It's not really like a behind story to be completely honest with you. Welp, I just posted a similar post regrading Flo in another thread... She only played for NT until 2007, after that she rejected NT invitations all the time. I really want to see her back in NT and make it to the Olympic games but supposedly she's still not interested in playing for NT ever again and is busy with her life outside of the court. I may sound as though I know her in person but I don't ;) I just had a feeling that she has a lot of different things to do in her life and not only put her passion in volleyball all the time. Now with Buijs, Pietersen and Plak who are younger than her and have been playing for NT since many years ago just have built up their spot and Guidetti probably thinks it's too late and unfair to cut one of them and give that spot to Flo.

The pathetic player you talked about is actually Katarina Barun :rolll: I wonder she still gets the fear though.

  • No, it wasn't, it was an user opinion but he/she wrote that was official.

BTW, Adams confirmed in the OG by the local media.

Oh, thank you very much! Since it said US revealed their roster I didn't even check their page.. Now this changes many things.. Both Lowe and Murphy we're disappointing to me.. Especially Kelly.. I wrote my other opinions about the roster above, let's see what Karch will do

  • OK so I've haven't been on here too much the last couple of years but now that Stonemountains is about to retire, I'm off to Rio so I thought I'd keep an eye on this ;)

Looking forward to watching some great action in the Maracanazinho with Jo :super:

The Dutchies seem incredibly relaxed about this whole thing, but in a sense it's not surprising... The qualification rules are so stacked against European teams that they've made it the goals of their entire careers just to get there. Now they are, it's almost like the pressure's off. We'll see how they get on, but I'm there until the end...

  • Argentina Final 12 via @Voley_FeVA in twitter

    S: Yael Castiglione, Clarisa Sagardia
    Op: Leticia Boscacci, Lucia Fresco
OH: Yamila Nizetich, Josefina Fernandez, Tanya Acosta, Morena Martinez Franchi
MB: Emilce Sosa, Julieta Lazcano, Florencia Busquets
    L: Tatiana Rizzo

  • so eventually Boscacci is back (absent during Pan-Am), while Sol Piccolo is out (she played quite a lot during WGP) and Orduna decided to take someone for backrow/defence :D

Gold medal - World League 2013 Prediction Game
Bronze medal - World League 2012 Prediction Game

  • Puerto Rico Final 12

    S: Vilmatrie Mojica, Natalia Valentín
    OP: Karina Ocasio
OH: Aury Cruz, Stephanie Enright, Yarimar Rosa, Daly Santana
MB: Lynda Morales, Alexandra Oquendo, Diana Reyes
    L: Deborah Seilhamer, Shara Venegas

    Source

  • so they decided to go with defensive option and one of L will play as additional OH, looks ok because neither Ferrer nor Prieto got a lot of playing time and proved that would be useful  if something goes wrong, then Rosa or Enright can play on right wing as well and replace Ocasio :wavy:

Gold medal - World League 2013 Prediction Game
Bronze medal - World League 2012 Prediction Game

  • mostly rosa plays OPP, i don't think she's a good passing OH.

go, boricuas! good luck in rio.

Rosa is on bench most time, so she'll be first to play as OP, while Santana can replace either Enright or Cruz ^^ I wonder which of Liberos will be defensive specialist, I saw Venegas in some games as sub for backrow :D

Gold medal - World League 2013 Prediction Game
Bronze medal - World League 2012 Prediction Game

  • kondzio, i mostly see rosa come in for double sub as OPP, but she sometimes subs for cruz so she has to receive serve, but i think she struggles with that. as in this match:

poor POL .. they must have lost to PUR 5 times in a row now? so many bad calls, mostly favoring POL. pathetic. they should have a challenge system. congrats to the boricuas for not losing their cool in those moments, particularly in decisive moments in 3rd set. POL led 17-12 and still lost 3-0. amazing enright just killed POL, rather than ocasio. would like to see more of ferrer in the future. reyes is the 3rd MB and she reminds me a little of nancy carrillo the way she attacks the ball, but she needs to get in better shape.

on the other side, grejman and tomsia very impressive too.

ramon lawrence, PUR assistant coach, still the best looking coach in the world... much more so than pretty ferhat. ^^
