Women's World Grand Prix 2017

  • I thought there was a rule that 11-0 ended the game. Maybe that was just some rule we made up as kids.

  • Btw, there should be more female coaches

Agree agree--at least on the women's teams.

Are there any women in the FIVB organization in positions of power or influence? Or in any of the national club level whatever you call them-derations? I've watched a couple awards ceremonies or whatnot, and these kind of creepy old men touching the girls' arms and moving them around and, ew, it made me feel weird about liking the sport :what: The girls look uncomfortable.

BTW - Way to grow the sport, FIVB, by not making the Grand Prix streams available in the USA (and elsewhere). Not like the USA is a potential growth market. :aww: Then again, seems like USA sports fans get their fill from reading stats and watching highlights, can't be bothered to sit through a whole game.

  • it's funny that the CMR x ALG match is already on the YT, i went to the fivb channel and all they have are only the hightlights for all the other matches.

btw, i use zenmate to pretend i'm in romania so i watched the end of PUR x PER match. PER surprised PUR, and beat them 3-1, even though PUR played with ocasio and enright who didn't play at the panamerican cup. there, PUR easily beat PER. leyva was on fire this time.

I use Zenmate too (tried all the options available) and even then I could not watch any games tonight. I really hope FIVB does not block everything this year...

  • So there will be no replay video on FIVB YouTube channel like they did for World League. Why?????

PS Thailand VS Japan is always a pleasure to watch. These players always give all out defensively. It is interesting to see the battle of two future stars of each NT, Ajcharaporn from THA and Koga from JPN. I always like Ajcharaporn. I watch her during SEA Games and she was unstoppable. She has incredible jumping height and fire power. And Koga is playing much better it seems. She is definitely going to fill in Kimura's shoes perfectly.

It is NOT true! There are complete replays for all the matches... in my case in ASIA. But If your country is being put under the famous Geo-Restriction by FIVB/YouTube, of course you will NOT see those replays. In that case it will take long time for them to release the videos that one actually forgets their existences.

Btw the replay videos for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games have not been released until today due to the Copyrights sh!ts, I guess those OG replays were buried alive like vampires to never see the light again <Evil>

  • SHOCKING RESULTS:

    Peru - Puerto Rico 3-1

    Argentina - Canada 0-3

It's especially quite shocking to learn the host be defeated in straight by CAN, after what a good performance in Montreux VM. And never know that CAN is good in volleyball

  • For a while, Malinov kind of surprises me with a dynamic and fast sets. But then, wrong decisions specially at the end of the set
Something is missing in this italian team...

1 Bosetti ... ok, but 2 in the court, no way!

  • Malinov was playing well, but in the end of the set she got a bit nervous, this is what happens when you spend the whole season on the bench.

I still don't get why the both Bosetti have not been replaced yet ....

edit" OMG...and then he takes Sokoraite out and still keep both Boseti in... neither of then are able to pass today.

  • Egonu has been spiking so many easy balls out. Italy could have won the 2nd set if she had not missed that one close to the end. And of course another passing mistake by Bosetti in the end.

  • As usual the Italian team just handed over the set at the end, anticlimax, true for the 1st and 2nd sets, this match and the 1st one, no wonder the team can hardly win over strong teams.

  • As I always say....playing time is the most important thing for the development of a player. Just look what a hot mess Turkey and Italy are once mostly of these players are not full time in their club.
