seems to me Japan has more good setter than China
Montreux Volley Masters 2017 - 6-11.06.2017

Brazil looks a lot better than they did in pool play. Tandara looks much more fierce in attack and Rosamaria does a better job than Drussyla and Amanda. I don't see how Germany would have a chance to beat them once again tomorrow.
kind of totem ?btw..the match is continuing..not finished
-
Chinese girls managed to win the set..it was an excited set
-
Wow, that set was all Brazil's to lose and they did so
Two perfectly placed aces by China in the end of the set, but still I don't really see them turning the whole thing around.
-
It's unbelievable that CHN is able to take the 3rd set from the massive firepower by the BRA team here. But BRA will win this match, no way this CHN line-up can stand the BRA overwhelming power here... I hope BRA team will take this victory as the settlement of old debt
-
as if the ball was in ? (serve by China) 6th point of Brazil
-
This is great for Germany, both Brazil and China won`t have much time to recover for the final tomorrow. Right now for me it is 2pm in the afternoon and the final is tomorrow at 7am (my time). If China can take this to a 5set is even better for Germany.
-

Yeah, because winning a meaningless match in Montreux is the same as a quarterfinal match in the Olympics
-
Well, Lui Xiagtong was one of the reasons why Brazil lost that quaterfinal.

im not sure if they take it as you said or not but it wont be that easy for this squad to beat Chinese A team -

It won't make a difference. German team will play their 10th match in 12 days tomorrow, so even if Brazil and China play 8 sets today they'd still be less exhausted than most of the German players.
-
Yeah I get it, but Brazil also played 2 games against Dominican Republic, at the same time that Germany was playing those 5 games at the WCQ.
-
stop finding excuses Matthias
this is going to be the final and no matter if you played 2 more sets than your opponent or not...sure Germany will fight for the best -
It's not "excuses" and it's not "2 more sets". Of course it's a final and of course Germany will try their best, but what I mean is that I won't be surprised if Brazil wins easily tomorrow. Not that I hope it, but it can happen...
-
congrats to Brazil
they knows how to show their best in the most important matches
as i expressed it before they are the fav.
i hope German girls fight till the end and we can watch a good final match -
Laola's commentator is once again very "creative" with names
Yesterday we had "Smart-sek" and "Mend-er-tsik", now we have "A-cha-cha-raporn" (which admittedly is not easy to pronounce, but I wonder where he found the extra "cha").
Oh and "Cool-house" is quite interesting too
and adenitsia! like in italian adenizzia...
but then nobody can pronounce juciely either... joo-see-eh-lee.
-
Kurnikowska iirc.
women, please stop changing your names when you get married or divorced or whatever! nobody can keep track of your multiple names!
the other day i was watching some match and was totally confused with a player with the name kirdar on her shirt. of course, it was the former cemberci, not the former sonsirma. so confusing ... so many names to keep track!

my thoughts on this new German team (they are new to me at least)
they lack a real offensive OH.I remember Brinker's good matches but seems to me she is neither an offensive nor a defensive OH .she is somewhere around them. They need an offensive OH such as Mihajloviç,Perreira,Özsoy etc..or even Baladin,Voronkova etc..
The middles look promising but inexperienced
I liked setter Keemsies. She seems to have what a setter should have to be a good setter
I think German NT will/can benefit from Geerties' quality as defensive Oh for long years
Lippmann is a good OPP and i believe she will be much better than Kozuch upcoming years (she looks more like a real OPP than Kozuch) but she needs to play as many matches as possible on international level.its still early to expect from her great performances against world's best teams -

I can't speak for all teams but I wish they'd stop changing their jersey numbers too. And sometimes they put their first name on their jersey and sometimes their last name, sometimes a nickname. Especially with Thailand when the commentator may call them by their first name when their last name is on their jesrsey, this is hard for a new guy like me to get up to speed. -
sitenoise, i don't think that's correct. all THA shirt names are surname initial followed by given name. so onuma sittirak shirt says S. Onuma, for example, and pleumjit thinkaow shirt says T. Pleumjit.
BRA names can be more confusing because they usually go by a nickname. most of the women's shirts have their first name, but some of the guys may not if the player is known by a family name, like lucarelli for example.
i don't know about THA names, but in many asian cultures, family name goes first then given name (same with hungarians and finns). so zhu (family name) ting (given name) or kim (family name) yeon-koung (given name).
i think most of the JPN players have their surnames on shirt, exception being nicknames like sayori and gottsu.
