    Most Excellent. Thank you.

No Nagaoka, Shinnabe ... drumroll ... Yuki Iishi for Hisamitsu. Yuki looked so unhappy at the Club Worlds, like she wanted to call it a day and go home early. She needs a reset. She needs her sisters. Her new bedroom hair style is much better than that helmet she used to wear. The camera loved her.

  • Hi Tony, do you know what's going on in last weeks with Ajcharaporn Kongyot? She didn't start in most of the games of U23 Asian Championships and didn't start today. Also when she played she was far from her level. Is she a bit injured?

Talking about other team any idea why Brakocevic didn't play for Altay in 1st match?

Ajcharaporn Kongyot is still injured. (She has not fully recovered even now. So you'll not see her in the court full time. )

  • Volleyball is weird. There are only a couple players on this Hisamitsu squad I recognize. And if they win this AVC Club thing, they qualify for next year's Club Worlds? Wherein they would (have to) field a completely different squad. Weird, I say.

  • Yes, the winner will qualify for the next World Club Championship.

The problem is that, in Asia they don`t play the Continental Championship during regular season like they do in Europe and South America. The only time they find is now, when the season is over and all the main players are with the national team and the foreigners are gone.

In China the season is really short and no room to play extra games like for the Asia Championship. I don`t know if the reason they do play during regular season is because of the Chinese or not.

These players that you don`t know, is part of the team, but they are usually never part of the main roster, they are like subs, alternative players, youth team etc.

Some clubs will hire international players just to play this tournament , like the Kazan team has Brakocevic, Radulovic, the Bangkok signed some internationals as well.

A quick scan, I see that 2 of the last 7 AVC Clubs were in the Fall, and 5 of the last 7 Club Worlds were in the Fall. And it wasn't just OG years. A different can of worms, still weird.

Sounds like some of that mysterious non-existent B-Team stuff :whistling:

I haven't even begun to grasp who shows up and how on the FIVB U18, U20, U23, and the AVC U18, U23 Squads. Good Gracious. I did track down a couple matches with Ai Kurogo (AKA Love, After Dark) so I could check her out. And there was an NEC player on one of the squads but she wasn't on the other one--Shiori Aratani--a MB who I liked more. Dunno why I see everything NEC with rose colored glasses. :D Love that team.
