2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

  • THA vs JAP is definitely my #1 favorite match of the tournament so far. Both teams played very well in terms of defending the court and crazy side out attacks. There are tons of mega rally that lasted for more than 20 seconds. But the best point of the match I think is on the fifth set at 13-12.

Thailand did very well. Ajcharaporn is just on fire on attacks. I am glad she has found her 2014 ryhthm. My heart breaks for them. They don't deserve to lose that match after giving such a spectacular performance.

Japan did very well on stepping up their game. Trailing 2 - 0 behind didn't hinder them, in fact, they are playing much better on the following 3 sets. They were kinda lazy at first in terms of floor defense, but as the match goes on, that high flying quick digging style of Japan comes back. Korugo's immitation of Kimura's iconic serve is just amazing to see. Did she score like 6 aces in this match alone?

The MVP of the match for me is Ishii. She attacks good and her floor defense is mad.

Overall, this match is giving me volleyball-orgasm. Thanks and kudos to both teams!

    Yep!

Did you count how many times the commentator exclaimed "Absolutely incredible"! He needs to expand his vocabulary.

Kurogo's serve is great, and she's putting up numbers, and FIVB recaps credit her with all the wins, but Yuki has been the MVP by a mile for the last couple weeks--blunders and all. She's playing with spirit and swinging harder, and she's like a giant spider on defense.

    Koga's not there

  • i dont trust in Fivb's individual stats anymore ... :white:
Fivb sucks so big!! :aww: :wall:  X(

im checking on my girls stats. Netherland vs brazil's score was not added in the stats so as adenizia and bia's block.. ade should be no. 1

  • China will be stupid if they would send their A team to Germany. They are in the finals and due to travel distance (which they would have done for the first time in the VNL) and time difference when they need to travel back to China for the finals. So it does make sense to rest the players.

It is true. And it is bad news for italy~~~ and good news for The Netherlands~~~~

  • This!!! For me this is the match of the tournament. Dutch girls and Turkish haven't played a single match yet since Guidetti left them, this will be ultimate drama material. Dutch girls I'm sure will show a ton of aggression and will do whatever it takes to win, Gio will want to bring his best team on court and the Turkish will fight a lot as well. I just hope they won't take it too far... But surely there will be many screams, power spikes, big blocks and drama in that match. Cant wait

It's so you! :wall: Can we enjoy another week without drama and fight?

at first Güneş appeared to have zero block but now she has 3 blocks against Korea..i have found many faults with the other matches as well..i hope the stats are accurate as you said :win:

Kakolewska is still number one..Ade is second Eda is third but Ade and Eda's average per set is identical : 0,89 ..Ade has one more block than Eda

Eda then Polish Marlena are rivaling closely with each other at "best server" :thumbsup

  • Did Eda played the whole game like Adenizia?

  • The results in Apeldoorn and Rotterdam were certainly with ups and downs..

Likely Buijs and Daalderop are not 100% fit, so that explains for some part why Buijs played so bad this week and Daalderop stayed outside court totally.

I watched all matches on Dutch tv, and I must say I'm totally fed up with Grothues, after het comments in the post-match interviews....what an arrogant b*tch she is :hit: :hit: :hit: Now I understand why she has always troubles with the club she plays for...her character must be really bad.

In both matches (Italy and Serbia) she got blocked 100 times...and still after the match she couldn't deal with criticism by the interviewer....I

In general, I hate Grothues, Schoot and Dijkema for their totally over the top celebrating of easy points on court :hit:

  • Terzić is actually happy about yesterday's disaster, because the first two sets and most of the third were good. Uhm, OK then. Yes, it was a really good performance for a while, but in volleyball it's not over until it's over. The team totally lost the plot after being in the winning position, it should never happen and there's nothing to feel good about. Maybe he's trolling us.

  • Oh what did she say? I always imagined her as a humble person and a good captain.

One thing that pisses me off in volleyball is, most light volleyball watchers judges players by only their attacking contribution. They do not understand or appreciate that some players, although they are spikers, are on court to mainly to receive, to defend and to balance the team, not to score with %50 efficiency in attacking.
