I don't understand why Pankov didn't say anything to Voronkova  Voronkova always try to kill balls with power but Pankov had to explain her, you can put the ball in the empty place of court with simple touch 8| there are three players try to block her and she doesnt play with brain and always hitting ball is not a solution

Efimova should really need to improve her blocking arm positioning. She's not reading the balls or the spikers.

Romanova should take a few more risks when the rallies get more intense. A little more to the right and some pipe won't hurt.

I really feel annoyed when I see Malygina on court. She always weaken defence and attack with her slow style

Efimova again! Her blocking with her arms is so uncreative. She got to use her mind when blocking especially the pipe or attacks from the middle.

Russia will probably lose the points they made when Efimova comes back to the front. :gone:

I think Romanova is auditioning for the award of world's most boring setter right now.

Ilchenko is really playing with her brain. I like her smartness. I still don't know why Malygina is on court if Romanova will not pass a ball to her. If Romanova had a fear about she couldn't hit a ball and why Pankov insisted on keeping her on court :wall: Malygina is OPP and she had to hit balls more than Ilchenko and others because she is out from reception. If she is unable to hit balls and why bring her to NT X(

Ilchenko seems to have improved a lot. Curious to see how she'll do against the bigger teams (besides NED, of course).
I'm glad with Dutch girls' win! Koolhaas was great, as was Grothues. Buijs killed some very important balls too.

On the other hand, Knip really needs to work on her sets to position 2, the game could've ended sooner had she got those balls to Plak right.

Even Malykh wasn't getting any balls by the end as Romanova just set to position 4 every time.

Our coaches are really weak. Sometimes I think even I can be better coach than them  as if our coaches are not the proper ones to NT. :S

Koolhaas 7/7 in attack, Balkestein 10/15, Plak 15/31, Buijs 13/28. Russia really have to block better than this, even Fetisova who I really like seemed slow and in bad positions today.

Congrats to the Dutch girls on a really good game and 3 victories :drink:

It also has to be said Boz is doing a great job so far. She might be the star of mediocre teams, and she might be underwhelming in comparison to the very best of Opp's in the world, but Gui is bringing the absolute maximum out of her, and she is in excellent form. :win:

I would set to 4 as well. That's the money shot.

Trusting Malykh all the time can be a double edged blade and Efimova is too slow as a slider and Fetisova is not exactly that person.

I just feel Romanova should've given Malykh or the pipe attackers some crucial balls but she's technically correct going to 4 all the time.

I still think Russia's blocking with Efimova killed them. She was giving too big of a space for Netherlands to bring down the ball to their floor. That's not exactly a good habit for a middle blocker.

I still don`t like the fact that the middles are being used more. Stevanovic - Popovic - Veljekovic - were all scoring a lot this season. Then they come to the NT and they play like cheerleaders. And they should be using these easy games to work on that...but I guess it will always be Mihajlovic-Boskovic only... and the whole world knows where the ball is always going.

I like Mirkovic...she did a nice job with Chemick and especially Veljekovic. She fits the NT because she`s tall and good at the net and when the pass is not good she`s always there to make something happen. Serbia could not handle a shorter setter for example. Russia is struggling lately having shorter setters...
Just watched the replay of Serbia-Germany (didn't get to yesterday).

A harder match than the score indicates, and not so because of Germany's good play, but Serbia's bad play at times. Especially the second half of 2nd set and the first half of 3rd were bad, reception in particular. It must be much tighter in the future.

But there are good things, of course. Excellent performance, again, by Brankica and Jovana. Very good match, especially at the beginning, by Mina Popovic. But I must say I'm pissed that Boskovic has once again abandoned the jump-serve!

I don't care if it's a safer option. Higher risk, higher reward. And Tijana Boskovic without her bomb-serve is a lesser player.

Also, Mirkovic seems to have a good connection with the middles, which is great.
You're comparing apples and oranges when you compare the role of our top middles in their clubs to their role in the NT (with exception of Rasic). The main reason why they get so many more balls in their respective clubs is because they don't have any terminators like Boskovic and Mihajlovic there, so they have to make up the difference.

In other words, waiting for our middles to get as many balls as they do in their clubs (again, Rasic is a case for herself) is akin to waiting for Godot. ;) :D
