2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League

  • lets just present reality to the turkish forumers. You need to develop your youngsters. In brazil players are tested in club season very well be it old and young and even in the case of foreign players..

  • Matthias ofc you're not wrong but what has Ceren proven? She is in her mid twenties and shows no sign of becoming better. While Ebrar clearly can hit much harder, over the block and has potential to become great, maybe the most talented Turkish player atm. She should always be there, even if it is just for experience as you said.

I am very relaxed btw if thats referred to me btw, since I like this forum a lot I just like to share all my thoughts with everyone at all times. Just as if we were watching it together as friends on the living room ;)

  • I don't like Ortolani performance. She is not even 50% of her from club performance... from 43 spikes She scored only 10 points. I know that She is his wife but come one give someone else a chance...

Ebrar was missing a lot for Turkey and When she was their what had she showed ? She is talented girl but not even near Egonu, Haak and Boskovic at the same age, but yeah Turkey doesn't have so many good OPPs so She should be their to improve and to get experinces.

  • Ebrar's percentage of kills is not exactly that groundbreaking to say she would have helped in beating Brazil.

I hope some of yall give more credit to Brazil for the great game they've shown.

Favorite players: M: Maxim Mikhaylov, Murilo, Serginho, Aaron Russell, Otavio, Simone Giannelli, Ivan Zaytsev, Tsvetan Sokolov, Michał Kubiak, Mariusz Wlazly, Pawel Zagummy W: Sheilla, Zhu Ting, Natalia, Fe Garay, Fofao, Gabi, Thaisa, Foluke Akinradewo, Wei Qiuyue, Ding Xia, Carli Lloyd, Fabi, Natalia Goncharova, Yuko Sano, Saoris Kimura and Sakoda

  • You guys sound as if Ebrar had already proved to be the next big thing. She surely is a very talented player but I don't think she could have done great things today against this experienced Brazil team. It could have been good for her personal development to get to play though...

I was about to comment the exact same thing, but I'm glad it's already been posted...

Y'all talking about Brazil's defense and while I agree to some extent (Suellen was great!), there were way too many tips falling on the floor. Lots to improve, but it's still early in the season and I'm sure it's gonna get better over time.
As for Turkey, I think Hande was good. She didn't choke on reception as usual and scored some important points. Ceren was alright too.

    100% impossible.

with amanda playing at court, monique is used as a backrow specialist to serve for a middle blocker. Nice tactic by ze!

  • Turkish fans are not used to Turkey being on top of an international tournament. Everyone should just relax and chill. It's not the end of the world yet.

volleyball is a group work! A team effort. The reason why osasco even with tandara lose to the beach in the semi finals.

Im very much happy with my brazilian team

    Roberta macris
Tandara monique (though im still curious what bruna/edinara could offer)
Nati, gabi, but im more of drusylla... she is intelligent spiker.
    Suelen

Amanda for god's sake pls include her in tokyo 2020!!!!! She is an asset
I have no problems in the middle blocker position, i just hope mara would ask dispensation....

Bia is a leader in the pack with adenizia and carol comes 2nd and third respectively!!!! I also love milka!

  • So many silly comments. Noone said Ebrar would save the day. In a day where Meryem has been useless and Ceren is sooo scared to take the lead, it would be good to have someone who is not scared of hitting the ball to come in the game for subbing Meryem at times, even for double substitutions.

Good job Brazil! They play the block out game really good and made amazing job in block/defense today. Guidetti should consider a different game when wings of Turkey are so shaky in offense.

  • 'Just because they saw a video posted in fb of a young player with great height, the make good praise of that person '

 ok we get it she s not proved anything yet but this is bs. We know she is very talented because we actually followed her esp. in U tournaments. And yea a teenage player with potential will not necessarily score with 60% in her debut matches as a back up also

Edit: And for the record, I don't even have an FB page

Indeed Ebrar shouldn't be treated as savior but since Opp position is the one we suffer most nowadays, Guidetti should give as much as international experience to her possible so that she could be ready in 2020 (maybe even for WCh considering Meryem's terrible shape)

Turkey did play very well. The differnce is only on the offence. If Turkey had an OH like Zhu, Turkey would be a team hard to be beaten.

Duh, any team with an OH like Zhu would be a team hard to be beaten anyway

Also Guidetti was a big mess today and the complete opposite of what he was week 1. He changed things up waay too many times. I mean start with Seyma-Meliha then hande in seyma out, fulden in meliha out, seyma back hande out, hande out meliha in, fulden out hande in, meryem out Ceren in and reverse that 5x. Cansu in Gamze in out in, in. Simge in. But 0 team

I literally got dizzy of it, and had no idea who was on court at times

What do you expect from him? He should keep the players who is playing bad on the court? I bet you would be complaining about him if he would not make any change

  • I did not post it here but the thing I liked last week so much is how he trusted his players a lot and made it clear he tried to build a strong, solid team. Except first 2 sets, Turkey did not play that bad tbh even after winning a set with a certain line-up he completely changed it, that will essentially break the momentum easily esp. with big hitting team like Brasilia. I just thought some of his changes were very random at times, and sometimes he changed a player with momentum. Would you disagree? I don't think that was smart.

It was not that much of a complaint btw, its VNL in the end and I he just tries new things and I can understand that. It just was a little funny to me in the end as he did not stop at all.

Ofc I would complain if he never made changes, sometimes you guys act like all you're opinions should be either Ying or Yang lol there is such a thing as too much, and nothing at all

  • Slightly off-topic: the award for the ugliest shirts definitely goes to Team USA :white:

It looks like they simply took the cheapest available.

    Agree. It was distracting

It literally looks like they took a basic t-shirt and went with it. It's horrible.

With the fourth round done, I gotta say: I'm pleasantly surprised with Poland and Belgium so far this year. Sure it'll be a tough (if not unlikely) battle to win a spot in the F6, but seems reasonable to say they'll avoid relegation this year. Smarzek, Herbots and to a lesser extent Grobelna have been great so far. Poland just needs a more realiable OH instead of Grajber (1/17 today was just sad), while Belgium needs more experience, but it's undestandable given how most of the older ones are not playing.

  • Bring back the Cuban leotards.
