Germany - DVL 1. Bundesliga 2014/15

  • Tomorrow 14.00 CET the first big final Dresden - Stuttgart live on http://www.vbl.tv

I hope it will be a good match, both teams have shown a high level of play this season :)

BTW, which team won the bronze medal? Both that lost in semifinals? I think there's no game between semifinals losers, right?

  • Dresden - Stuttgart 3:2 (23:25 25:16 23:25 25:22 15:7)

MVP: Kristina Mikhailenko / Tamari Miyashiro

In the end deserved victory for Dresden, they had some critical moments when they lost 3rd set 23:25 after leading 23:21 and then were 3 points down in the middle of 4th set, then a serving streak of Jackson turned 4th set around and in 5th Stuttgart's reception and defense completely collapsed. Izquierdo was dominant in first 2 sets, after that Mikhailenko took over and was very efficient also on serve. As much good as Sandor does for Stuttgart offensively, her weakness in reception cost them the match today.

2nd match next Saturday in Stuttgart.

  • Schweriner SC will not extend setter Diana Nenova´s contract. Already last week she went back to Bulgaria where she will start working in the fitness club of her husband, a pro boxer.
After two seasons, playing with foreign setters (Nenova and Radenkovic) and without a title, Schwerin is considering to bring back a german speaking setter for the upcoming season.

  • To be honest, Denise Hanke should be back for Schwerin

Agree, she had great time playing here and later she turned to the biggest disappointment both in Turley and Poland. It's an opportunity for her to reborn ^^

  • Today, 19.30 CET, the 2nd final match Stuttgart - Dresden, live on http://www.vbl.tv

Stuttgart's hall was sold out very quickly as soon as the schedule was announced and the team is very motivated to tie the series. In Dresden Michelle Bartsch still hasn't fully recovered from her muscle problems so probably Shanice Marcelle will start again.

Some news from Aachen: Pucarevic, Ponte, Burazer, Stankova, Markovic and Bednarova didn't get new contract offers. Kosova and Svobodnikova have signed, Crkonova and Valachova have offers but not signed yet. Dora Grozer has a valid contract for next season.

  • Stuttgart - Dresden 1:3 (13:25 16:25 25:19 23:25)

MVP: Renata Sandor / Jaroslava Pencova

I couldn't watch the match so I can comment only from the stats. Stuttgart only with Sandor in attack, Renkema and the OPPs completely out of the game apparently. Today they played with Papafotiou as setter. For Dresden Izquierdo and Pencova (8 blocks in 4 sets :obey: ) were the best.

So Dresden leads 2:0 in the serious and can become champion at home on Wednesday, the hall is of course already sold out.

  • Kim Renkema had to exit Saturday's match because of stomach flu, she had to throw up several times after leaving the court. She might not be able to play on Wednesday which would cut Stuttgart's chances close to zero, nobody from their bench can compete on a level necessary to beat Dresden for a full match :S

I'm almost sure Dresden will take again the title; with or without Renkema on court..

  • Stuttgart puts up an amazing fight :obey: In 1st set they were down all the time but fought back in the end and even had 2 set points but couldn't use them, but then in 2nd set they completely dominated :white: Dresden surely expected an easier match...
