That`s great ( and more clubs should do the same, focus in developing local young players), BUT with that said, hopefully she won`t be sitting on the bench these next 3 years and watching all the young foreign players on the court. Otherwise she won`t get anywhere.

No, it's explicitly the her and the club's goal to be starter ASAP. She got a decent amount of playing time this season due to Anja Brandt's illness, but right now she's not good enough yet to be fulltime starter for a team that wants to be champion, so Schwerin signed Hannah Tapp.

Remember, in German league most contracts are just 1 year long, sometimes even 2 years, but nearly never longer, so this is really unusual.

  • Vilsbiburg is a total mess so far :white: 14 points in 1st set, of which 6 :!: came from Dresden's serve errors. They can't pass, they're without Hashimoto and then they can't attack either. Mesa still not healthy enough to start apparently...

Dresden with a rather unexpected line-up: McMahon back to starting six, K.Rolfzen back to normal receiving OH, Birks on bench, Johnson and Puchartova as MBs instead of Cooper and A.Rolfzen. So far it works fine, but they didn't have to face much resistance yet...

  • Mesa had a leg injury lately and then also the flu, she hasn't fully recovered yet. About Hashimoto - no clue, throughout the season she missed a few matches due to knee problems, but there is no info yet why she's absent today.

Even without them Vilsbiburg can definitely do better than in 1st set, I hope they get there soon...

    Got it.. thankss

  • Fun moment of the day: Roslandy Acosta enters the sub zone too late so Potsdam's 2nd libero Sophie Dreblow (168cm) has to stay at the net for one rally and she blocks the slide attack of the opponent MB :rolll: Two rallies before she also had to do a backrow attack because the player who had to set the ball forgot that there was no OH available for the pipe attack :D
Neither the block nor the attack turned into a direct point but Dreblow surely enjoyed herself a lot

IT HAPPEND A SECOND TIME in the Tiebreak, when Potsdam was serving for the game.... Goddeamn, would freak out as Coach  , good for her that Dreblow did a good passive blocks and it was not deciding for the game...
    Thrilling game though!

  • Schwerin - Aachen 3:0 (25:10 25:19 25:15)

MVP: Lauren Barfield / Jeanine Stoeten
Overall very convincing performance by Schwerin, Lippmann and Brinker were rather quiet today but instead Geerties played a strong match in attack. Tessa Polder once again with 0% attack for Aachen :aww:

    Dresden - Vilsbiburg 3:0 (25:14 25:21 25:9)
    http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2016-17/Women/&2512.pdf
MVP: Kadie Rolfzen / Saana Koljonen (what a joke having to choose an MVP for such an underperforming team)
As posted above, a really shameful performance from Vilsbiburg  Naoko Hashimoto was absent due to an appendix surgery, so I guess she won't be back for the 2nd match either...

    Potsdam - Wiesbaden 3:2 (14:25 21:25 25:23 25:19 15:13)
    http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2016-17/Women/&2515.pdf
MVP: Ann-Marie Knauf / Simona Kosova
Definitely the most entertaining match today, both teams with a lot of variety in attack and strong contribution from the MBs. Lisa Gründing's stats don't reflect her actual performance, many of her attacks were just luckily defended by Wiesbaden and in addition to her 5 block points she had her hands on many many more balls which was very important also for the team's defense. Acosta and Drpa couldn't kill the ball for almost two sets, just towards the end of 2nd set Potsdam arrived in the match. In 3rd set Drpa was angry with the referee and also got a yellow card, after that she was nearly unstoppable

    Tomorrow 15.00 Stuttgart-Münster.

  • I was yesterday in Schwerin. Aachen was very weak. Schwerin shows a solid Power. Not more. The reception from Maren Brinker is very bad. I've seen them in the last few weeks. So weak. :wall:

    MVP Schwerin was Lauren Barfield.

    Same Aachen :-)

  • Typical women's match
Stuttgart dominated the first two sets and apparently in their heads had already won the match, but Münster refused to give up and finally started to play their real game, and now we're heading to a tie-break :white:

  • Guys, I agree about Aachen.

Certainly there has been progress since the beginning of the season, but they are still far from the level competing with topteams.

Hopefully the young Dutch players will be invited to the wide roster of Dutch NT. Oude Luttikhuis and Daalderop should practice reception during whole summer :win:

  • Stuttgart - Münster 3:2 (25:13 25:15 22:25 20:25 15:13)
    http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2016-17/Women/&2509.pdf
MVP: Wanna Buakaew / Jennifer Keddy

Crazy match, and for the last 3 sets also an interesting one. Stuttgart's players looked exhausted, as if they're already physically preparing for the semifinals. Sandor clearly isn't fit right now. Whitney started great, then in 3rd set Nichol kinda forgot about her and after that she couldn't find her rhythm anymore. Münster with great fighting spirit in defense in the last 3 sets, towards the end of the tie-break they were really unlucky with a serve of Van Daelen dropping like a stone behind the net, Mlejnkova catching a finger of Münster's block on an out attack and finally Stuttgart's last block against Bathen landing just on the line.

This is the advantage of the underdog not having additional load by European cups and having nothing to lose. Very bad play by Stuttgart in sets three and four, just Münster playing an unusual formation and counting opponents errors mainly, because of their lack of attack efficiency. The European cups matches took more energy from our team as expected and rest period was rather short... on the other hand, while Münster could NEVER win in Stuttgart since our team is playing first league, this was by far not the first tie-break decision, home advantage is big. By the way, Münster had a number of lucky balls in fourth set, otherwise Stuttgart may have averted the tie-break.
