What is the importance of that tournament? Any qualification for international tournaments?
-
It is qualification Tournament to the 2012 World Grand Prix.
4 Teams from Norceca and 3 from CSV.
But FIVB will change something as always after that Tour. -

fivb only authorized 4 norceca vacancies and 2 south american vancancies from copa panamericana... -
Exacly...
Last year Brasil set the Junior team to play Panamerican Games, and ended really bad the Panamerican Cup, not getting the vancacy to WGP, we wont it with Wild Card.
Zé Roberto and Ary Graça, Brasilian Federation president were really criticized cause of that.
Cause here we dont have important tournaments such as European Championships, so playing World Grand Prix, some years is the only main important tournament we have..:S
So I guess this year they decided to send first team cause of that..to garantee GP spot.
-
12 teams in 2 pools for preliminary round...
Pool A: Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Rep., Argentina, Canada, Chile
Pool B: Brasil, USA, Peru, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Trinidad & Tobago

I wait for moment when the system of competition of World Grand Prix will be like in the Men's World League. Ok may be tournaments like now but after all matches in Ranking two last Teams play with Teams from qualification like in Men's. Others Teams are in automatically without any qualif.

Acording to usavolleyball.org Brazil is already qualified to 2012 World Grand Prix due some commertial arrangment (wild Card)
