  • Final Four in Louisville, Kentucky

    Final Match (December 15)
    (3) Texas (29-4) def. (5) Oregon (30-5) 3:0 (25-11, 26-24, 25-19)

    - Texas' OH, Bailey Webster, named MVP of the tournament.

Thanks for posting the results. I had a Christmas party that night and recorded the match, but found out from a co-worker at the party that the Ducks had lost.

Finally got to watch this match.

The Ducks just killed themselves with hitting mistakes (Texas with 15 blocks to 1 for Oregon), service errors and bad passing. Texas are deserving winners.

Oregon had their best season ever and finishing 2nd was great. I think that they'll lose a lot with 4 seniors leaving after the season.

  • brahmin or TheUSAFAN, have you already heard something about brazilian player Thayná? She is 18 and she is playing in USA now. What Jayhawk West and NJCAA Leagues are? She was MVP of those competitions.

Here is her player page with Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas (which may be a misnomer (joking))

Community Colleges are not part of the NCAA system. However, a player can go to a community or junior college (essentially the same thing, just called different in different states) and take classes to then transfer to a regular college or university.

Often players who were did not have good grades in high school, but want to continue. They have to pass their classes and pass the tests but can advance to the bigger schools.

A number of coaches do look for these types of players to play for their team. However, by going this route, they have fewer years of NCAA eligibility (4 minus the year or 2 years at the community/junior college).
