African Club Championship 2016 - Tunisia

  • The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has entrusted Kenya with the organisation of this year's edition of the prestigious Women's African Club Championship. The event will take place in Nairobi, a stronghold of volleyball in Central Africa, from April 22 to 29.

The competition attracts around 16 teams each year and will feature the best clubs on the continent, led by record title-holders Kenya Pipeline and Ahly Cairo who have seven titles each to their names.

Teams have until March 28 to confirm their participation in the event. Ahly were victorious in 2015, when the event was hosted by Egypt.

  • The African Volleyball Confederation has moved the continental women's Club Championship to Tunisia, after Kenya withdrew from organisational duties.

The competition will be held in Tunis, 22-30 April. Tunis last organised the event in 2014, before it moved to Cairo for 2015.
