A real drama occurred this afternoon in Kienbaum, where Russia was defeated by Poland at the end of a real marathon to miss for the first time in history the final round of the CEV Youth European Championship – Girls. That is definitely a tremendous shock for the Russian Volleyball family which comes nevertheless after a series of very weak performances registered at all junior and youth Championships staged in the past couple of years. On the other hand, Italy and Serbia are continuing confidently their respective home campaigns, while the list of the teams that have booked their flight to Ankara was extended to include Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Ukraine for a very massive Eastern European contingent.
