2014 FIVB World Championship - Italy - 9/23

  • I find critics to Barbolini about his Gamze choice unfair. If he chose her just because she is playing in his club team, then why did he send Neriman home during ECH this summer and started with Seda? Or why did he chose Kubra Akman instead of Asli or Ergul? If we follow your theory, he is supposed to involve Nihan as the sub libero in future.

The only explanation of his choice is simple, because the group looks really simple and he doesn't need a great second setter. I glad he is giving a chance to a young player considering Gamze will be the main setter of GsD next season. I don't think turkey will have problems to find a good setter for a while. Probably Ozge will Naz's sub during the main tournament if she keeps her performance in tauron. Otherwise Elif deserves to be the sub considering her performance in Fenerbahce so far.

About MBs. I'm so glad that Eda is back because finally we have a top level MB. Rest should watch and learn from her including Bahar.

Yes I agree I wrote that about Gamze too.. What I don't agree on is Bahar.. I mean Eda.. Ok Eda is a great slide attacker but don't you speak of her as Akinradewo or Thaisa.. as I said she is a great slide attacker... And I can't see what can Bahar learn from her since Bahar is a better blocker times 5, she can only learn running slides...
And even Bahar's serve which was a very error prone skill is better than Eda since I noticed watching Turkish league she (Eda) nowadays misses too much especially in important moments

  • There are 5 groups, so the best team from each group will take a spot at the World Championship...what about the last spot? I mean, there still 6 spots for Europe available, right? Thanks!

  • Uuuuh ! Nesli's serve makes serious damages in Ukrainian side :box:
Unhappy to have been blocked a little sooner ^^

  • i can say what i said for Velickovic for Eda Erdem...
    In Europe :
the best middle attacker (on zone 3) : Stefana Veljkoviç
the best slide attacker (on zone 2): Eda Erdem, Filipova
    the best blcokers :Fürst,Poljak,Rasiç.

  • Yes, she saved Turkey today. Also really good to see Eda back :) But Gözde played quite bad today, many easy mistakes in attack...

Gözde is very inconsitent player, the only reason she had very good season last year was the fact that she was playing only in important matches. That's why I believe that Gözde is a reliable 'tournament' player such as OG or WCh and we should have some good receiver with decent attacking skills such as Esra for back-up of Gözde. Güldeniz is only a good backrow substitute for Neriman. :S

Ukraine would be as good as Crotia if their best players Rhykliuk, Marchenko and Kozlova would play. Crotia finally managed to gather all their best players, I hope Ukraine would also succeed to convinced their top players to play in NT someday

  • to play with mammma, poli and gurbanova at the same time is really brave act.

Mamma is very good in attacking, all we miss as a NT is good receiver

  • it doesn't make sense to substitute odina with jana, problem is receiving, and they both can't receive well. :wall:

  • Summary of Azeri volleyball:

    1. Clubs have very bad policy (except Rabita)

    2. corrupt line-referees

    3. the most scandalous announcer ever in the gym..a huge shame !!!

  • it doesn't make sense to substitute odina with jana, problem is receiving, and they both can't receive well. :wall:

I think Jana clearly receives better...which is interesting because of her height.

The only difference between Estonia and AZE is Mammadova. I hope Estonia can take at least one set...
