  • Thanks Tony for the videos  pls keep sharing in semi finals and final too..

why is Kazakhstan so weak in this year's Asian Championship? where does number 3 from Kazahhstan play ? number 18 from Thailand is an interesting player ..how tall is she?

who do you think will be champion? what about S.Koreas chance ?

  • I don't have information about Kazakhstan team.
As for No. 18 of Thailand team, she's Ajcharaporn KONGYOT:
    No. 18. Ajcharaporn KONGYOT K. Ajcharaporn 18/06/1995 178 66 295 285 Supreme Chonburi VC

since long time ago, they even won a bronze medal in Asian Games in stone age, but if you mean after the revolution, they re-started to participate since 2007 and since then they finished 8th in almost all tournaments Asian Championship/Asian Cup !!

    nope, no naturalized player, never

so Iran women team has regressed after "the revolution" ..what underlies this , in your opinion ?

  • so Iran women team has regressed after "the revolution" ..what underlies this , in your opinion ?

oh well, I think it's not that hard to find the reason, let me start with this, after the revolution they (revolutionary extremists) stopped all women's sports (plus some sports even for men like Boxing and Tennis) for a decade, only in 1990s they started with less-active sports like Shooting, they did start sports like volleyball much later, in 2000s, so this is very obvious. they started from zero.

and beside that playing with those dress codes, it's like starting the set with 8-9 pts down. those dresses make jumps harder.

  • about THA:

amporn hyapha is not any taller than pleumjit thinkaow (180 cm).

thatdao, the young MB, is a bit taller, 183 cm.

i think some time ago, THA had a tall MB (188 cm), utaiwan (?), but she wasn't too good.

    about KAZ:

KAZ is always an interesting team. they have some crazy tactics. their OPP and even some OH (like matveyeva) like to do the one-footed takeoff back slide. omelchenko (what happened to her?) was a very tall OPP/MB and she would even serve jumping from one foot!!!! and then the setter would set a high ball to the OH (nassedkina) in position 4!!!!! their biggest hitter is mudritskaya (195 cm), who can be a big killer when she is on, but mostly she is a bit ponderous and slow. still, a better team than IRN or AUS…

i guess rachel rourke is not playing here??????

  • Maybe we have just some changes in roster - we have new Liberos and both OPs are out... Nassedkina is not OH, but MB :wavy: team's management made weird choices because in roster we have 2 L and 4 MBs what gave only 4 spots to 3 OHs and 1 OP...
in some Grand Prix games like vs. Germany their play looked quite enthusiastic, but now they're just smashed by Thailand...
