“The Italian book is closed…thank you Villa Fans…you have been incredibile to me & I will forever hear you chanting Lindsey Berg…cuore”
In campo non me li posso permettere.

  • If I understood right, Conegliano bought the rights of Parma to play A1 next season!

so the new team of Conegliano will play again in top italian league...

but what happen to Parma and Parma players????

yes it is correct...Conegliano thanks to the group IMOCO managed to buy the title to play once again in A1; it is not the same Conegliano as the one of this year as the society is Imoco Volley...
Idon't know what will happen to the Parma players...http://www.volleyball.it/notizie.asp?s=118&n=44931&l=0

Yes, it's true and there are some voices about the new coach...there is the possibility of a return of Marco Gaspari, the last year at Spes Conegliano, or Donato Radogna will be the new coach (and so some players of Parma will be taken to Conegliano)...but there is a third possibility, a foreign coach with experience in Italy (perhaps Nesic, even if there are rumours about him in Modena)
P.S.: my avatar image is the logo of Imoco Volley ;)

  • I hope Conegliano will be the new Pavia

  • Lindsey Berg say goodbye/au revoir to Villa Cortese and Italy

The day after “gara 5” of the final for the “scudetto” (championship) Lindsey Berg, that has been Villa's setter for 3 yers and this year also capitan of the team, say goodbye to Italy with a tweet.
With a 140 letters message, #4 of Villa keep togethe poetry, thanks, affect, melancony and future. “The Italian book is closed…thank you Villa Fans…you have been incredibile to me & I will forever hear you chanting Lindsey Berg…cuore”(ndr. cuore means “heart”)
During a phone call, LB said something about her thoughts in this last days in Italy.
“Sunday closed a part of my life that lasts for seven years. I have a lot of memories. I have met a lot of people, and some of them become friend for life. [ndr one of them is Valeria Rosso] In Italy I grow up as a player and as a person and this is the reason why on twitter I have not written that I will not come here any more. Mine is just a “arrivederci/hasta luego/au revoir”, if I will not came back for playing, I will came back in this country that I love and I will meet my italian friends. Last 3 season were special, Villa was my favourite team. Villa was the highest point of my carrer in Italy. I like everythink from the beginning to the end. The city, the society, the fans. I thought it was the perfect place for me and here I could close my carrer” Lin's voice crack: “I can't descrive the emoions that our fans gave to me. When I listen them shouting my name [ndr Villa's supporters have a chant for her and during it they scream “Lindsey Berg”] I had shiver. I feel loved and that was the proof of the love and the passion that fans have for the team and for the sport. Also in Novara and Pesaro I have very passionating fans but what I feel here, I've ever feel nowhere.”
Lindsey breath “I know this emotion in my voice thay I have now is far away from the image of myself thet I give when I play. I put away my sensibility when I am playing. It seem like if it goes away from my body. In the field I am agressive, figheter, sulker, it seem like if I have not weakness and feelings. In the field I can't have them. To win I just be as I am when I play.” Her body language during the final of the championship was clear: head-on, proud look, Lin was fighting for the 'scudetto'. “I regret that this 3 years in Villa were not closed with the final victory. It was our most important objective and we did not gain it. We were so close [ndr I remind you that they had the first match point in the tie break] a rally could change everything. For the work done by the team and by Marcello [ndr Abbondanza, the coach] should have been right realize our dream at least in one of the three chances. By my role of capitan I am very proud of the team and this season. For the first time we did not win any trophey but we reach the final 4 of the champions league and this is very important for an italian team. In Europe there are teams that costs 3 or 4 time ours and they were watching, not playing. The final of the italian championship was closed after 5 matches, during the tie break. The team was fantastic because in the last matches we did not stop playing with head, we were always in the matches and we face well the injury of Martina Guiggi, that was very important. Stufi was very clever to replace her but she have not her experience, Martina was playing her 7th final for the italian championship. In 'gara 5' I have never heard girl lost mind, also when we were under with the score, we were thinking about the next rally. I hope that after the disappoint, it could been understood that what we did this year is not to throw away.”
Lindsey's italian book is closed, now the setter of the USA NT is thinking about the OG in London. “I am focused on my objective. I have 100 days to persuade the coach that I can be usefull for the team and to change the colour of our medal that we won in Beijing. (silver) My knee after 22 years of volleyball it is not hte same. The final give me good news, we played 5 metches in 9 days and next week I will be in Germany to have a particular theraphy. As I said before, Italy let me grow as player. My way to set is better now. The head and the experience provide for my physical problems.
What I'll do? I don't know. I thought to stop for one year, but then I have recived important offerts from foreign countries. I'll take a lot of time to choose, I want make this choice after the Olympic Games, appraising the coach and the project of the team. I know that could be late and team could not wait for me. My role is the first to choose to build a team. If I could not find a team there wont be any problem, I have a lot of ideas to realize. One of them is the opening of a female boutique of fashion in Los Angeles. With my 2 parterns the project has already start.”
