NEW: Swiss Volleyball League 2012/2013

  • The Brazilian middle blocker, Mariellen Ribeiro da Costa announced that she would definitly retire from pro volleyball at the end of the current season.

  • Libero Mélanie Pauli moves from VBC Schaffhausen to Hôtel Cristal VFM. She will replace Devon Sutherland that turns back to the U.S.

  • From next season, a direct promotion from NLB to NLA or a direct relegation from NLA to NLB won't be possible anymore. In the future, the affected teams will have to go through play-off games, Toggenburger Zeitung revealed.

  • The coach Carole Crittin confirmed that she would leave VBC Cheseaux after the club had announced its voluntary relegation last week.

  • The committee of VBC Biel-Bienne has just decided to keep the team in NLA. Furthermore, Brazilian coach Pedro Carolino will replace Michel Bolle.

  • The central player of VC Kanti Schaffhausen, Joana Heidrich has joined NUC for the final series. Due to several injuries (in particular Diva Boketsu and Sabine Frei), Sagres Neuchâtel UC absolutely had to find an extra player to support the central position. A specific rule on the licences allows a Swiss junior to play in favour of two teams, even in the same league.
