Turkey - Acıbadem First League 2012/13

  • The 2012–13 season (known as the Acıbadem Turkish First League for sponsorship reasons*) will be the 29th since its establishment. The regular season will begin on 20-21 October 2012 and will end on 30-31 March 2013 and the Playoffs are going to start on April. Eczacibasi VitrA will be the reigning champions after winning the 2011–12 Turkish League.

    * Turkish Volleyball Federation signed 2 year contract sponsorship agreement with the Acıbadem Healthcare Group.

Turkish Volleyball Federation has decided to continue 2+1 rule next season that manages the presence of foreign players in the national league rosters. That means only 2 foreign players will be on the court during the matches and only 1 additional foreign player will be allowed on the bench BUT European Cup participants can play with 3 foreign players against each other and so next season those clubs will be able to play with their 3 foreign players on the court. (It was accepted by all clubs)

A total of 12 teams will contest the league including 10 sides from the 2011–12 season and 2 promoted from the Second League. MKE Ankaragücü and Pursaklar Voleybol İhtisas were relegated to 2012–13 Turkish Second League the previous season. The two relegated teams were replaced by two 2011–12 Second League sides: Sarıyer Belediyesi made return to first league as Second League champion. The second placing team Bursa Büyüksehir Belediyesi was also promoted to AcıbademTurkish First League for the first time.

Following the regular season, eight teams in league rankings qualify for the playoffs and are seeded one to eight. In playoffs, home court advantage goes to the first seeding and the 4 winners advance to the second round or semifinals with a match-up between the 1-8 and 4-5 winners and a match-up between the 2-7 and 3-6 winners then the 2 winners advance to the third round or finals.

First roud is a best of three series. The quarter finals are played in a 1-1-1 format, meaning the team with home court advantage hosts games 1,3* while their opponent hosts game 2. (* - if needed)

Second round is a best of three series. The semi finals are played in a 1-1-1 format, meaning the team with home court advantage hosts games 1,3* while their opponent hosts game 2. (* - if needed)

Third round is a best of five series. The finals are played in a 1-2-2 format, meaning the team with home-court advantage hosts games 1, 4*, 5* and their opponent hosts games 2,3. (* - if needed)

At the end of season; the Turkish League winner and runners-up automatically qualify for the CEV Champions League upcoming season. The Turkish Cup winner and third place team has automatically qualify for the CEV CUP. If the Turkish Cup winner has already qualified for European competition through their league finish and if the runners-up have also qualified, the next highest placed club in the league takes their place.

  • I am looking forward for Yesilyurt and Ted Kolejler.
Hopefully Ted will transfer a good OH and OPP, maybe the young serbian player Lukic who was in Youth NT and some rumours existed she will transfer to a turkish club last year ?
This year, the league will be even more colourfull as last year

  • Ceren will play in Sarıyer, not Yeşilyurt.

And Emel Çelikpazı is MB not Opp.

  • Where will Kübra Akman play ???

  • When I knew that Barbolini will have been the new coach of GS, I thought he would have left Calderon play as opposite... Now I have the proof that it is true! BTW is better Calderon than Gioli AHAHAH I hope to not see Simo playing as opp anymore

It's possible, you just have to believe in yourself and really not care what other people say, because I've heard it all.
If you let someone else dictate what you're going to do in life, then you won't get there.

Non so neanche come onestamente: in due mesi ero di nuovo in campo.

  • Where will Kübra Akman play ???

Well Vakıfbank transfered her and kept her rights but big possible in Nilufer she will stay one year as rent like they did to Gizem Orge but in Gizem's transfer voleybolunsesi mention that Vakıfbank TT loaned her to Nilufer but voleybolunsesi didn't write anything about Kubra's situation so maybe she will directly start to play in Vakıfbank next season but Vakıfbank has already 4 MBs  (Not sure about Melis Gurkaynak)

I think it was necessary, they didn't have 3rd MB (Maybe Ceylan Arısan, 1994-junior NT player, would play) Still I wish Marinkoviç would stay for sure

  • :what: She'll sit on bench the whole season behind Poljak, Usic and Lyuba...just like Marinkovic last year.

I don't think Petrovic's situation will be bad as much as Fabiana's one.She will play in several games for sure mostly against easy opponents instead of Poljak to adapt the new team.About against strong teams if Usic plays like she did in Play-Offs she will stay in tribune but there is also Esra in team if Usic's form is being worse maybe we can see both Petrovic-Poljak duo in field with Esra-Sokolova.Everything depends on Usic DAMN :rolll:
