  • We will have some changes in Brazilian League calendar starting next season!!!!! Finally! And in most part, thanks to Bernardinho, that made the new calendar..hehehe and also to players and clubs that pressure CBV to make some changes.

The Brazilian League will be longer now, ending in last week of April. The games will be played only in weekends, letting the week days for trainings, and also for Brazilian Cup!

Yes, We will have a brazilian Cup next season!

And also The South American Championship will be replaced by a South American Cup, that must be played also during season, and not only after it.

It is also schedule to have a All Star Game that will open the new season, in October.

The new calendar will be better for the clubs cause the sponsors will have more time of exposure.

Next Monday will have a meeting to discuss the new ideas.

Only in 2016 the calendar will be shorter, cause of the Olympic Games, in order to Brazilian NT have more time to train for the Games.

    source: Lance!

You may not like Bernardinho ways inside court, but you have to respect him...what he does to brazilian volleyball, and for volleyball growth overall is incredible!

  • And also The South American Championship will be replaced by a South American Cup, that must be played also during season, and not only after it.

How could the SAC be played during the season? It's a tournament of all of the South American league champions. If a champion is not yet crowned how would they qualify?

Brazilian Cup is a great idea!

Brazilian Cup is a great idea!

I dont know how will be done yet, in future maybe they will make like is Champions League, with previous years champions...this season..maybe they will elect some clubs..dont know yet how will be done.

  • more exciting... :win:
I'd like to change only the All Star Game for the middle of season (probably december/january)...

  • Is all of this 100% official? I mean, I'm absolutely all for it, but I'm still quite a bit skeptic CBV would make so many changes within such a short period of time.

If it all comes together, 2013 will be a very exciting year. All of the changes sound pretty good and they also mean more games! :cheesy:

The new came from an important journal, but its not official from CBV yet. But its official that CBV has been making a series of meetings with playres, clubs so they can give their opinion and critics about the league. So seems quite secure source. ;)

  • ^ Oh yeah, I heard about these meetings too. I hope CBV will confirm everything soon!

Well, few weeks ago, right after the first meeting, Ary Graca was talking about all those changes in some interview. Back then he said that they're just waiting for the confirmation from GloboTV, but apart from that, everything is more or less set. So, yeah, next season should be very, very exciting

  • It's done! An agreement was celebrated today between CBV, clubs, staff and players. Superliga will start soon and end later (from October to April). Brazil NT will have club players from May to September. New competitions will come. Everybody talks about Brazil Cup and South American Cup. They didn't specify it.

  • Mihajlovic about playing in Unilever and Bernardinho wrods about her.

Mihajlovic: "It is an honor and great pleasure to play in Brazil, specially training with one of the biggest coaches of all times all around the world. My goal is to improve my game and justify the trust placed in me by a team of the size of Rio de Janeiro"

Mihajlovic: "I've always dreamed to work with volleyball 'experts', but honestly I didnt imagine that this opportunity would come as it did. When I've heard of such opportunity, I didn't hesitate in any moment. I'm really happy that this dream is coming true."

Bernardinho: "She has a great attack potential, has a good service, and can improve well in reception and block, besides she has a good international experience. We believe she is an athlete with a lot of disposition for training and great will to improve."
