Potsdam hosted a pre-season tournament this weekend, final ranking is:

1. USC Münster
2. Schweriner SC
3. SC Potsdam
4. Volleystars Thüringen
5. KSC Berlin
6. VT Aurubis Hamburg
7. VCO Berlin

Münster gets very good results in their pre-season matches so far, I think they haven't lost a match yet. But then they're one of the very few teams in the league that is already complete.
Thüringen quit the 3rd place match at 8:12 in 5th set when Erika Salanciova crashed into the LED board while trying to dig a ball and caught a bleeding wound at her head :S Thüringen already had a very reduced team so they played with Jordanne Scott as only MB all the time and she never rotated to backrow, she rotated from 2 directly back to 4 and the libero would always serve instead of her.

German league new season starts tomorrow with the opening match Schwerin - Stuttgart, live on www.vbl.tv at 18.30 CET. Should be an interesting match, both teams are supposed to get good results (again) this season, while pretty much all coaches from the league name Dresden as main favourite for the Championship once again.

Watching end of second set of Schweriner - Stuttgart now and how the referee called a block touch that he only saw in his dreams, I wonder how many matches have been decided by referee mistakes until challenge system has come. I hope the system spreads all over the leagues asap.

Schwerin - Stuttgart 3:1 (25:18 16:25 25:22 25:18 )
http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2015-16/Women/&2005.pdf
MVP: Denise Hanke / Renata Sandor

Typical first match of the season, both teams rather erratic. In the end it showed that Schwerin could practise with more players than Stuttgart, from Stuttgart's starting six three players arrived just last week from NTs, one of them being the setter. Like Nostromo said, in 3rd set the referee helped Schwerin with an hallucinated block touch that made 24-22 instead of 23-23 and in 4th set Anja Brandt served from 10-10 to 17-10. Nice comeback to Schwerin for Denise Hanke

Next matches:
Sa, 17.10.15 19:00 Köpenick - Hamburg
Sa, 17.10.15 19:00 Wiesbaden - Vilsbiburg
Sa, 17.10.15 19:00 Thüringen - Potsdam
So, 18.10.15 14:30 Münster - Dresden
So, 18.10.15 19:00 VCO Berlin - Schwerin

All except VCO match live on www.vbl.tv, most interesting should be Wiesbaden-Vilsbiburg and Münster-Dresden.

I hope, they won't change in Bundesliga.... It takes so much time to look for the referee mistakes, as you could see in the european championship in netherlands...

Münster - Dresden 1:3 (21:25 25:19 18:25 24:26)
http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2015-16/Women/&2002.pdf (soon)
MVP: Ines Bathen / Michelle Bartsch

IMO Dresden's MVP should have been Lisa Izquierdo. She entered in 2nd set to replace Gina Mancuso who played very bad especially in reception and Lisa was unstoppable in attack, stable in reception and also had a couple of kill blocks. Münster's Brazilian setter didn't play too well, so young Irina Kemmsies replaced her but got injured at 20:19 in 4th set. Münster had two set points at 24:22 but then Fuchs missed the serve and the setter gave three consecutive balls to Kvapilova who couldn't kill them and a block by Izquierdo finished the match.

Despite the win I think Dresden looks far from impressive. Dijkema and Hindriksen are decent setters but just not the same league as Kreklow. Same goes for the MBs, they're very tall but that's it, Pencova and Jackson were on another level. Dresden will need Bartsch and Izquierdo to perform on a high level the whole season to be successful. But then it was just the first match and a lot of things can change.

I agree totally about Izquierdo. She was the difference in the match and should have been MVP. As for the rest, given that the whole team has practiced together for only one week, I think it is too early to make conclusions about how good DSC might be this year. We shall see.

As I told months ago, Turner is gonna rule Bundesliga. She's so good, even now that she plays as OP.
