2013 FIVB World Tour

  • Kerri Walsh, the legend, will be back soon after her third baby. She's going to play Long Beach Grand Slam from July 22 to 26.
Walsh and April Ross is the new american pair which means Kessy/Ross will be over soon.
Kerri Walsh is a nightmare to brazilian pairs, but it's nice to see a legend back. :win:

  • Marcos Miranda said that Juliana won't probably back this year to play for Brazil. He thinks the other players are playing well.

First of all, Juliana is the best player we have. She won the last world championship with Larissa which means a third place to Brazil maybe is good to him, but to Brazil is not. The level of our beach volleyball is dropping visibly. While other countries smartly keep on with their old and successful pairs, our staff do what they want.
Some players are playing well, but it doesn't mean that playing well it's enough. We need our greatest players to defeat the greatest players from the other countries. If we consider that Kerri Walsh was out so far, we can imagine how difficult will be to us at the Olympic Games.
Finally, I think Juliana is more important than him. When Marcos Miranda left RJX, this team improved a lot. Hot tip! :wavy:

  • Duda went down in history yesterday. She is the first beach volleyball player to join all Under World Championships at the same year.
She was runner-up in Poland (U23 World Championship) with Thaís a month ago. Then she played with Tainá at the U21 World Championship in Croatia where they're eliminated after the round of 16. Now Duda/Tainá won the U19 World Championship in Portugal. Detail: she's only 14 which means U15. A phenomenon for sure.

  • Fipav decided to split the strongest italian couple of beach volley: Cicolari-Menegatti won't be playing together anymore, as coach Lissandro wanted. Menegatti went to the grand slam in Long Beach with Orsi Toth, while Cicolari will go to the European Championship with a young girl, Costantini. it is a shame, I have no words really...
they were the strongest couple we ever had, they could have won the ECH as they did at the mediterranean games, but no, they decided to split them up!! unreasonable choice, quite shocked and angry! hope that things will get repaired but it is nearly impossible...

OH! I had no idea... I loved them!! No, no... What's the reason

  • I don't get it, why they're destroying good pairs?

  • Before new rules, teams could have their own coaches, training camp and take their own decisions. Now federations impose a coach to the players and he can do what he wants. Now coaches summon players not teams and can create the teams according to their own decisions.

  • Now it looks like that it was Marta that wanted to split up the couple. she said that it is from quite a while that she can't work so well with Greta and so she said that to the coach and the federation. I don't know what to think, on volleyball.it they say that it sounds like a forced declaration, and I have to say I quite agree with them, considering the good results, the good atmosphere and the harmony...
