USA NT 2017

Quoted from "Mapuan" Players to watch out this coming quad are: Rahmat Alhassan is a very good blocker with incredible height reach. She reminds me of Christa Harmatto's blocking ability... she is just more imposing. Slide attack is one area that she needs to improve but her A and B quicks are super good. Inky Ajanaku is pretty much like Foluke, incidentally they are both from Stanford University. Currently injured and hopefully she will see action in Grand Champions Cup. She has incredible off...

USA NT 2017

USA has a long road ahead of them. Alisha Glass is retired. Hope Lloyd can fill in her shoes and be able to play fast tempo attack like Glass. And, hopefully her connection with USA main scorer, Akinradewo, can be established better. Karsta Lowe also retired. Meh, don't really care about her though. I don't understand why Kiraly insisted on pushing her as main starter while she has been underperforming all through her seasons. Even Fawcett is 10000x better option. (Well, if Hooker is on the team...

2017 FIVB World League

The golden triangle of Ishikawa-Nagaida-Otake is amazing. In a weird way it reminisce me of the Brazilian women NT golden triangle in 2008 of Mari-Paula-Sheilla. These Japanese players looks like high school students, imitating Haikyuu to the extreme I must say. HAHAHAHA. Cannot wait to see how these kids will perform in Tokyo 2020. With Otake current performance, I won't be mad if Shimizu is no longer the starting OPP. Also kudos to Fuji the setter. He always knows where to set so his wing spik...

Montreux Volley Masters 2017 - 6-11.06.2017

I think the problem with Natalia now is that she has to re-adjust with the Brazil style of volleyball -- fast tempo offence. In Fenerbahce she was given mostly high balls because her jumping height is insane and she can kill really high ball with her hard spike. I just wish Coach Ze will allow her to play high ball because she is really efficient that way. Natalia is filling in Mari Steinbrecher's shoes very well, having being able to play both OH and OPP position very well and can kill high bal...

2017 FIVB World League

Japan's serves are insane. They are putting a lot of pressure of Turkey's passing and to make it worse, Turkey's OHs are being inconsistent with high balls. The triangle of Nagaida, Yamauchi, and Otake is doing amazing. The referee made some really bad call, especially that carry that he called on the Turkish player on serve-receive. I thought overhead receive is legal in any form for receiving serve?

Quoted from "ossubtus" wow... did you guys see that POR MB still does the back slide??????? I dont see any problem with it. Lucas performed back slide perfectly well. I wonder why men no longer do back slide. It is quite efficient tbh.

2017 / 2018 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "Maxwell" I have a question, if the USA had a league similar to other leagues would they be able to draw foreign players to play here? i think for the first few years it will be hard because they have to establish the league first in order to attract sponsors. i am sure it will be a competetive one but players don't really think about competetive league without reasonable salary - which only come from good sponsors.

2017 / 2018 Transfer News

Quoted from "USAvolleyfan" Well her international career has lasted 2 sesons, and not one of them has been as good as everyone expected judging from her 2015 Grand Prix performance.. agreed. she was nothing special. there were a lot of buzz surrounding her debut but she didn't live up to the expectation. shame that coach karch chose this girl over the killing machine that is destinee hooker. i would have brought fawcett instead.

2017 / 2018 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

Quoted from "Umu11" Quoted from "Rvxcx" anyone knows where Nootsara Tomkom will be transferred to next season? It was said she will take one year break due to personal reasons. I am happy that Lyod came but Nootsara is a great setter and she shouldn't be sent. Nootsara said she was very tired after playing a season in Turkey. Europe has longer league and continuous tournament and it took its toll on her. There are talks in Thailand that she is focusing on Olympic Qualification to help Thailand ...

Russian NT 2017

I have never liked Pankova. She has never been a good setter to begin with. Her defense is tragic and her sets are tragic. I don't understand why she is the starting setter. Russia could do wonders with only Kosheleva and Goncharova but Pankova ruined that. Thank God she is no longer on the team.

Quoted from "Rains_of_Castamere" Oh my god! The livechat in the fivb channel is more entertaining than some of the matches. @akietoakie were you that guy in Czech and Korea chatbox? HAHA yes, I am. I was attacked by some of the craziest and overdramatic queens. I have a lot of fun laughing my ass off towards those pressed haters.

2017 - 2018 transfer rumours

Quoted from "rbdfabio" How about Stephen Maar? He posted a goodbye/thanking Poadova message on his instagram. Why won`t he stay and did he get any good offers? This was his first season as pro, and he did extremely well. 9th best reception. (6th among OH). 10th best scorer. 10th best spiker. 14th best server. 18th best blocker ( 2nd among spikers). These numbers are fantastic for a rookie, but I guess it does not matter when you are a Canadian? I`m sure if he was American or maybe Brazilian all...

Brazilian NT 2017

I have been watching Brazil Women NT since 2007 and in my opinion, the best team that they have was the 2008 team -- with the golden triangle of Mari, Paula, and Sheila. Mari and Paula was and still is the best OH-duo Brazil has ever had. Paula is so dynamic, getting called the Giba of the female NT. And Mari was just a beast. She was one of the first female players whose not afraid to hit hard over the top of the block. Sheilla was simply outstanding. She then you have the MB duo -- Fabiana and...
