Men's - Best Scorers in one Match - Club Matches Domestic & International

Quoted from "Kaziyski" 44 - GUSTAVSSON Fredrik - SWE - European league 2017 Sweden - Azerbaijan This section is only for the Club scores, but I'll cut a paste this for the national teams. Tied his previous high in 2013 World Champ Qualifying.

2017 FIVB World League

Quoted from "ossubtus" what the heck was that with the FRA uniforms in the match with ITA, that they had to change them in the first TTO???? they were all wearing blue as the ITA, then they changed to red... that was funny, except they didn't match the shorts anymore. Both teams came out in blue. If it is a lower level club tournament, it happens, but with the FIVB there has to be a difference in colors for the referees.

Women's World Grand Prix 2017

The initial reasoning for the World Grand Prix was to play international matches annually with the bigger teams from the Olympics. At that time there were only 8 teams and played over two weeks and then a finals. Due to the small amount of teams at that time, it was not feasible to have a long tournament, nor viable at that time. Also, since the beginning the tournament was really focused on Asian venues. Only more recently has it spread to being "home matches" Reasoning to shrink in size: 1. Pr...

2017 FIVB World League

Quoted from "akitoakie" The golden triangle of Ishikawa-Nagaida-Otake is amazing. In a weird way it reminisce me of the Brazilian women NT golden triangle in 2008 of Mari-Paula-Sheilla. These Japanese players looks like high school students, imitating Haikyuu to the extreme I must say. HAHAHAHA. Cannot wait to see how these kids will perform in Tokyo 2020. With Otake current performance, I won't be mad if Shimizu is no longer the starting OPP. Also kudos to Fuji the setter. He always knows wher...

Japan - V.Premier League 2016-2017

Quoted from "sitenoise" In case anybody cares, that Poohsan1053 YouTuber posted the Japanese All-Star game in HD with his whimsical editing style. Set 1 Set 2 Set 3 Set 4 It's worth watching if you like the players (unlike my previously posted bit in crappy stream). It's still serious, not fun except for a moment where a couple coaches come on for a couple plays; there's a back and forth between Saori and Sarina that's touching and cute (in which you can't help but see a torch passing); and the...

Japanese NT 2017

A big shock to see that Arisa is not in the Final 18. I wonder if she got injured in training, just speculation no actual information. Horikawa will probably be the starting Opposite, with Ishii as the backup, in my mind.

What does "points last set" in point statistic mean?

Quoted from "chelsea.lee" Hello everyone, i was watching the 2017 world league this morning, and after every set, in the points statistic, there was a row called "points last set", i did not see this in the past, can anyone help me understand what does this mean? Thanks a lot. I would guess that if you are in set two, it would show the number of points from that player in set one. I have never seen that stat before. Plus on the FIVB website or game reports, they never really break down set numb...

2017 FIVB World League

Quoted from "rbdfabio" FIVB will be streaming all games on youtube . In the USA I think Universal Sports will broadcast the US games, and they might block the US games for people in the US. In Brazil Globo/Sportv has the rights, and they usually block every single game, not only Brazil`s. NBC Sports and Universal HD (Universal Sports is dead) will cover games. Universal HD will be changed to the Olympic Channel in July.

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

Quoted from "JoanaBG" OMG, they weren't being racist. I mean, I get why this gesture can be taken as offensive, but in Serbian culture it's something completely harmless and not at all malicious. They were just excited to be going to Japan, and they've all said a bunch of times that they really like it there. But, this is a racist gesture. What is worse is that Mikajlovic plays in China and played in Japan. It would have been easy to say, you know ladies, I have friends in both places, maybe we...

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

I wish that I would not have to post this photo about the Serbian Women's team, but this is a bad look. And what is worse, FIVB has it on their website. Dumbest photo ever

Japanese NT 2017

Quoted from "nnnneil0929" I don't know if this have been posted here but SAORI SAKODA is retiring from the National Team. Some people think that she is also retiring from the sport. At this time, from the national team it makes sense (was not going to get in front of Nagaoka unless she changed positions). From a club standpoint, if she retired, Toray would be in real trouble.

Men's World Championship 2018

Scenarios for European Qualifying 2nd Round Pool A France and Germany are on a collision course for Sunday if they both win on Saturday. Also, if both win on Saturday, both teams would be guaranteed a 3rd Round berth. Pool B If Netherlands win, they will be guaranteed to place 2nd or better. Loser of the Slovakia-Greece will need to win on Sunday to have a chance at 2nd place. Pool C Belgium and Slovenia are on a collision course for Sunday if they both win on Saturday. Also, if both win on Satu...

Women's Club World Championship 2017

Quoted from "sitenoise" Yes, a total embarrassment for Japan. Just because I want to ... I believe the Japanese teams would have done better if there were 5,000 fans there cheering them on. That probably would be right. Japanese teams play better at home than on the road.

Women's Club World Championship 2017

I don't think that Japan will host this event in the future. Reasoning has to be as follows. 1. Attendance has been horrible Only 2 matches in pool play got over 1000 people, both of which were Hisamitsu matches And one today with Hisamitsu. I wonder if they thought that people would pay 8000 yen (US$70 according to Oanda) to sit in any seat at floor level. If I am watching 4 matches for that price, that is a great value. If I paying that to watch a Japanese team get blown out, then no. Maybe th...
